••• We are delighted to announce our participation to the Homo Faber in Città 2026 exhibition in Venice. We will be part of the official “On the Occasion of Homo Faber” - program starting the 01.09.- 30.09.26.

From September to November 2026, Caigo da Mar will present an exhibition by French artist Caroline Besse, featuring her new series of unique artworks inspired by her recent sejour in Venice using mineral and gemstone pigments in her unique artistic process.

We are honored to share this collaboration and being part of this inspiring celebration of exceptional craftsmanship.

••• In Caroline Besse’s creative process, minerals, ground into fine powders, leave the stillness of stone to enter the movement of water and light.
Malachite, serpentine, lapis lazuli, jade, opal and mica are set in motion by water and the brush. Through successive layers, they disperse, settle, sink beneath the surface or re-emerge. As the water recedes, light takes over, revealing density, transparency, iridescence and luminosity. Between the permanence of the mineral and the fluidity of water, these works give form to a material whose appearance is continually renewed by the changing daylight and the viewer’s angle of perception. •••

We were immediately stunned by Caroline’s profound knowledge and understanding of her medium when mastering her techniques and the unique way of creating her art. These are the aspects we like to highlight when choosing an artist and bringing them to our audience. We take pride on presenting her art and being part of the “On the occasion of Homo Faber” 2026 program. •••

Our “Meet Caroline Besse” exhibition together with Homo Faber program “On the occasion of Homo Faber” is coming to an end the 30.9.2026.
