Imagine thinking two mums loving, raising, protecting and showing up for their child is somehow inappropriate. Imagine thinking the gender of the people raising a child matters more than the love, safety, stability and values they provide.

Meanwhile, we’re over here teaching our son kindness, compassion, respect, consent, emotional intelligence and that love comes in all different forms.

Kids don’t come into this world believing that a family has to look one particular way. They learn those ideas from the world around them. And I think we owe it to the next generation to stop teaching them who they should find acceptable and start teaching them how to be accepting.

We don’t need to justify our existence, explain our love or convince anyone that our son is growing up in a family that adores him.

Because the truth is, a child doesn’t need a mum and a dad. A child needs people who love them, keep them safe, show up for them and help them become good humans.

And if two mums doing exactly that makes you uncomfortable, I think it’s worth asking yourself why.

Our son will grow up knowing that families can look different, that love isn’t limited by gender and that nobody should be made to feel less than because of who their parents are. And we will never apologise for giving him that🏳️‍🌈🤍 by @caitlinbryan__

Three birthdays. Three years of memories. And a house that’s been home for every single one.🥹🤍

This house has been the backdrop to so many of Zigs firsts. His first steps, his first words, learning to ride a bike, and countless little moments in between. It’s where we’ve watched him grow, celebrated milestones, and made memories that we’ll remember forever. He might not remember these birthdays or this house, but we will.

As we get ready to pack up our home and move from Bris back to to Melb at the end of the year, this house will forever feel special. The place where so much of his little story began🏡🤍 by @caitlinbryan__
