when ppl ask what I’ve been doing lately ~ @discoswell 📞🤠🍹 @hannasapp and I have been working on this now for 2+ years. Learning, celebrating small wins and starting a business. I cannot wait to share our designs. It’s a grind. Developing our brand has been incredibly rewarding despite the bumps in the road with suppliers, getting equipment, the list goes on. Yet we’ve kept the party going! We both work full time and have put so much love into developing our pieces. Dropping soon bb!!!!! Special shout out to the one and only @corinamyla . If you want to learn how to make hats, she’s in LA! My teacher, friend and constant inspo. We wouldn’t be where we are with our craftsmanship if it wasn’t for her millinery expertise. GEMINI SISTA SISTA BIRTHDAY 👯‍♀️ Hanna is one of the few people that has been there from the VERY beginning. Thankful for our sister dates and all her friends that I refer to as the lil sister gang (Many lil sisters thanks to Hanna banana hehe). 6.5 years apart in age, livin in the same town and soon to be my maid of honor - I’m wishing the best year around the sun for my lil sis!!! I’ve genuinely always admired her creative eye and the risk taker in her. She’s my best friend in the whole wild world. She really encouraged me to take some damn risk through how she goes after what she wants in her own life. I wouldn’t be in Telluride if she hadn’t made the jump first. Hanna co-founded Disco Swell, designed the logo with Regina in the very early days before we even knew what we were making (at the time it was attempting bucket hats lol) and I know I have a video somewhere of her first go at our website. Her creative direction is still so key here at DS!! Hanna took the farmers market photo in June 2023 - Disco Swell’s first market. If I could define day “one” of the company, this was it. Happy birthday to Scott!!!!! Even though he’s not on social, I know he’ll see this anyway 🤣 Excited for all the adventures to come, what a year - big 35!!! Cheers to more adventures. Really proud of him and all that he has accomplished with Hailey at the Cowboy. Here’s a small glimpse of some fun times and projects over the years. Scott renovated an ambulance that he named ArtVanbo, we love Art for camping!! He built the hat bar back in 2024 that is still at Disco Swell, gave me access to the mine that led to making a a welded hat rack, surprised me at Round Top and has been there for many other crazy projects along this journey. My favorite part of Round Top was my Fiancé surprising me by showing up at my Pop-Up!!! Out of the corner of my eye while helping a customer, I saw a pair of Carhartts that I knew I recognized on a man shopping hats and I was SO SURPRISED !!!! I cried haha. It also might have been his Coffee cowboy T-shirt that gave him away too ;). Scott really got me. Such a special surprise. Can’t believe my whole family - even little sister Hanna was even able to keep a secret !!!!! ;) Love you Scott so much, it really meant the world to me that you came all the way from Telluride to explore Round Top for my first spring show. Can’t wait to journal about it. So excited to marry you!!! WOO HOOO!!!!!! Scott was here two nights so we took a night out at the 550 Market Fashion show and then spent the next day treasure hunting in the fields. Sharing some unique finds we came across! Scott and I met a guy that sourced eyewear for the movies and he found a vintage pair of aviators. We also found some vintage ties, bits and bobs - but most importantly, some awesome storytellers. Life in our Telluride Hat Shop. Hats handmade right here. Customs + ready to wear available. Visit Disco Swell at 126 E. Colorado Ave. Blowing out hats instead of candles to celebrate being a full-time hat maker !!!🤠 For those new here, I am a self-funded, women owned start-up and I’ve been making hats going on FIVE YEARS. Finally went full-time in December 2024. Nothing about this has been over night, but keeping at it! The Progression: 2020 learned millinery 2020/2021 learned traditional western hat making 2022 sold first hat 2022 farmers market twice a week selling hats while working a 40 hr full time accounting job 2023 opened the Disco pop-up hat shop 2 days/week downstairs of society telluride while still doing accounting full-time 2024 went full-time hat shop open 6 days/week downstairs of Society Telluride 2025 continued the 6 day/week train while backwaiting tables during winter on the side (cause ya never know how it’s going to go sales wise!) Spring 2025: Secured first business loan with the Telluride Venture Network & FINALLY: Summer 2025 HIRED PART TIME & HAT SHOP OPEN 7/DAYS A WEEK!!!!!!!!!
