Being the “Cruise Director” this week for the Woolly Thistle’s 10th Anniversary Retreat was certainly a highlight of my career.

Thank you especially to my friends @scandiwork and @gudrunjohnston for teaching and coming along with us! I met so many new friends from around the US and loved being with all my @thewoollythistle coworkers, @nestingmag, and @ctomli33

I’ve been swatching for the Big Fritz by @lilalu72 in @wooldreamers 90 Varas in Ocean, Sea, and Stone because we just put up a new yarn set @thewoollythistle and I wanted to knit with yarn from Spain thanks to the new Armchair Travels to Spain & Portugal.

Which is your favorite? I can’t believe how much the Ocean color changes when placed with Stone or Sea.

Pending buttons (she can’t decide) Maeve’s most recent cardigan is finished.

Receiving a bespoke cardigan in @jamiesonsofshetland Spindrift knit to her exact specifications is something that Maeve believes “helps mommy be a better knitter.” She’s right. I enjoy her challenges and design choices.

Finished my first Birsie Beanny of the year (it won’t be my last!)

For this one I wanted to figure out the easiest way to make it with just a ribbed brim. For those of you curious just cast on the recommended amount and knit 2x2 rib for 15 rounds and proceed with the rest of the hat. No need to over complicate things 😊

This pattern was super fun to knit. I loved how rhythmic it is. @helenrobertsondesign & @shetlandwoolweek did a lovely job designing and producing it.

Yarn used: J&S 2ply Jumper Weight in: FC 46, FC 6, 9097, & 9144.

These Shamrock Hats are getting a lot of use this month. This is still my favorite pattern. The lighter one is made out of J&S 2ply Jumper weight and the darker one is knit out of Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift. Maeve has a very special golden birthday coming up in March and I think that deserves a very special cardigan. Making it up as I go along, her only request was that it was green and had shamrocks on it. Using @jamiesonsofshetland in Laurel, Black Ice, Eesit, Leaf, Hairst, & Parma. My Aal Ower Toorie is finished just in time for the first Wisconsin snow. I’m not a big tassel or pompom maker but I do like to put these little bumps on the top of my hats. (It’s just a little i-cord sewn down). We released Corinne’s new design The Vanilla’s Big Sister Sweater today @thewoollythistle! I had so much fun working on bringing this pattern to life, leading test knitters, getting kits ready behind the scenes and test knitting it myself! I chose @wooldreamers Manchelopis for my sweater and it turned out simply divine.
