Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️ Our team member @caitstgeorge created the “Shamrock Hat” pattern (available on Ravelry) as a nod to the holiday. When she’s not hard at work for Simply Shetland, Cait spends much of her time supporting her 2 daughters who are competitive Irish dancers and waiting for them at practice is how this festive hat came to be. ☘️ With more than 30 shades of green available in Spindrift, we love this opportunity to play with color in this hat! What’s your favorite green shade of Spindrift? Tell us below! ☘️

Getting pretty excited for @vogueknittingonline in less than one month! Times Square is quite a busy place and the artists and vendors that come together each January to share their love of all things handmade makes for a fabulous time. Will I see YOU this year? We’re vending in Booth 310 on the 5th Floor Marketplace with my friends @gudrunjohnston & @caitstgeorge from @simply_shetland! I will be packing my lambulance FULL of all of the wool from the farm as well as beautiful @jamiesonsofshetland wool.

Also, it’s not too late to sign up for my class, either! I’m teaching on Sunday, January 19. Come see me!

Behind the scenes last weekend: There are a LOT of people that made the magic happen at @nysheepwool for all of us to enjoy! Not only is most of the event run by volunteers from the @dutchesscosheepwool , but within our own booths in the breed barn and Building 31, I have a team of folks that help me piece it all together. I don’t even have photos of them all, here are just a few. From packing and driving back and forth(and back and forth, a total of 4 trips to set up and tear down, + 2 trips back and forth for running the booth!) to helping me to lead-train the sheep, watching over them when I have to be in the vendor booth or at a talk, to running the entire breed barn (I’m looking at you, @flyingfibersjeri !), running the register or bringing sample knits to show off our yarn, chatting with customers, dropping by with goodie bags for me and the team, putting a bottle of water in my hand, (then telling me to drink it!)….the list is too long. I’m ever grateful that you could help me. Oh! Those apples in the vendor office!!!! Thank you, all, from the bottom of my heart.
@jodyblanco packed, hauled, packed, hauled, unpacked, fed dogs!
@npayne02 & @dowietreetree12 did so much to help me with the animals and the booth!
@gudrunjohnston & @caitstgeorge anchored our booth all weekend with helping to sell our Shetland wool
@bigbarnlittlehouse drove all the way to fill in the gaps for me on Sunday
@lizperezwilson and @thisislesli pitched in to sell yarn and share their beautiful handknits for samples in our booth,
@flyingfibers & the whole crew were instrumental in running the breed barn and helping all of us shepherds to settle our animals comfortably and then share them to educate all weekend,
@hrhjbc and the love and the snacks!,
@bella_books114 behind the scenes to help us have our products labeled and tagged prior to vending,
Judi who sat with my Shetland lambs all weekend🐑💗
@whitedogfarmvt who sample knits for me because I knit waaay too slowly to be able to produce enough myself!,
@instapatgram who knit up a bunch of mittens for us to sell in our flock’s yarn,
And so many more that I can’t list everyone.
Thank you so so much🩵🐑from me and the sheep💚🐑

Saturday at Rhinebeck was full of sun, smiles + inspiration ☀️ swipe to see Natalie & Dave at Gudrun’s Cloud Drift meetup and behind the scene at Andrea Mowry’s Framed frenzy ⚡️ there were so many pretty Framed sweaters, no pictures were taken 🤍

We’re back in Rhode Island basking in the color + knitting inspiration and looking forward to good things coming up ✨

Enjoy the gorgeous sunshiny day!
