We inspire philanthropy and support the charitable sector to address the current and future needs of people in our community. #forcommunityforever
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
As we reflect on another year of community building, we’re reminded that our greatest strength has always been the people who see what’s possible, and work towards it. What began in 1955 with just 20 founding donors has grown into a remarkable community that has now granted more than $1 billion to the people, places, and organizations that help Calgary thrive.

Every donation is a step towards a better future. It gives families stability, helps organizations expand their impact, and encourages communities to be stronger. This past year alone, $110.7 million was distributed to 1,488 charitable organizations, creating lasting change that we can see, feel, and celebrate.

That’s our greatest silver lining: a spirit of generosity that helps us see beyond today’s challenges and move forward with greater purpose, lasting impact, and hope for what’s possible. Thank you for being part of it.

For many households, higher food costs are reshaping everyday choices, from the brands people buy to the portions they serve and the foods they leave off the grocery list altogether.

Recently featured in Business in Calgary magazine, Mortgage Connection's commitment to giving back is growing directly alongside its business.

The Connected to the Community Fund at Calgary Foundation was established to create a sustainable, long-term vehicle for Calgary giving. Through a simple promise that $50 from every mortgage goes back into the community, more than $1.5 million has been directed toward making a community impact and supporting Calgarians when they need it most.

As managing partner Josh Higgelke explains, “Our measure is how we make a community impact. Reaching people. Helping families through hard times. Addressing homelessness, food insecurity or domestic violence. And inspiring our team to highlight community causes.”

Nonprofits support every corner of our shared city, helping build a healthy, vibrant, giving, and caring community. Yet many people don't recognize the role nonprofits play in the programs and services they rely on.

From the arts, recreation, and wellness programs that enrich our lives to essential supports like housing, food security, and health services, nonprofits help people thrive every day.

That's why we're proud to support @imaginecanada's #AlreadyPartOfIt campaign, which helps Canadians see how nonprofits impact their daily lives and why we're all already part of the sector.

You're already part of it. Visit the link in our bio to learn more.

Today is DAF Day! We're joining foundations across the country in celebrating strategic philanthropy and the donors who are creating impact in their communities.

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a flexible, tax-efficient giving tool that lets you donate assets, receive an immediate charitable tax receipt, and recommend grants to charities over time.

As one of Canada's fastest-growing philanthropic giving tools, DAFs offer a simple way to support the causes you care about, without the complexity of a private foundation.

Yesterday, our team had the opportunity to engage with Indigenous Gathering Place Society of Calgary (@igpcalgary) during a lunch and learn marking National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. During the presentation, they shared their vision for a visible, permanent, culturally safe gathering space where Indigenous Peoples can share, connect, heal, renew, and celebrate in Calgary. Following the presentation, the group enjoyed conversation over a meal of stew and bannock.

Today, we are thrilled to learn that the Indigenous Gathering Place will have a permanent home at The Confluence, where the Bow and Elbow Rivers meet. Congratulations from all of us at Calgary Foundation! by @calgfoundation
