Can’t get enough of this colour, just so damn nice.

It’ll ride pretty good too, you should try it.

The new @santacruzbicycles Blur 5. I’ve been riding this one for a week now and it’s really surpassed my expectations. Fun, comfortable and fast! You shouldn’t get all 3, but you do here.

My personal favourite features are: The small bump compliance which not only smooths out the ride but really makes you feel like there is endless traction; The stability and direct handling in trails, which just gives you both mindless handling and complete confidence to go faster; And the bottomless feel to the suspension, it just never feels like it’s gonna run out.

On top of that there are features that make life easier (and cheaper), frame storage and external to the headset cable routing; 180mm rear rotors (you don’t know what you don’t know); room for two big bottles (tbh not Tacx, but Elite bottles fit); And of course a lifetime warranty.

This bike was made for fun, I’m so stoked on it.

Bring the kids, support a great local school, and help make their very first market day a good one. See you there! by @callans_biketech

The new @santacruzbicycles Blur is here.

Longer, faster, and yes it’s lighter, but most importantly it retains the incredible handling and superior build quality that Santa Cruz has always prioritised.

External cables remain and internal storage has been added, keeping design features practical and user friendly while adding a little bit of convenience too. While many brands chase features that make your life harder, Santa has brought the real gifts once more.

We are busy building up our first stock bike @callans_biketech. First sight tells us that this is a bike made for our beloved Karkloof and, really, for South Africa. We can’t wait for you to come see it too.

We will do a full bike rundown tomorrow, for now let’s just admire its beauty.

Stop overthinking your e-bike battery 😁

Here’s the truth: the battery management software in modern e-bikes is smarter than you think. It’s already doing the hard work — regulating charge, protecting cells, preventing damage. You don’t need a complicated routine. You just need to ride.

A few myths worth busting, though 👇

❌ “I have to fully drain it before charging.”
✔️ Nope. Lithium-ion batteries actually prefer regular top-ups.

❌ “Every charge = a full cycle.”
✔️Cycles are cumulative — five 20% charges = one full cycle, not five.

❌ “Overcharging will ruin it.”
✔️ Quality batteries + approved chargers have built-in protection. It won’t overcharge.

❌ “Cold weather damages the battery.”
✔️ It may temporarily reduce range, but it won’t harm a good battery.

The simple version: plug it in when you can, use the charger that came with it, and let the software do the thinking.

💡 If you’re storing your bike for a month or more, aim for 40–60% charge — that’s the one thing worth remembering.

Got battery questions or need a replacement? We’ve got you — visit us and we’ll sort it.
