When my wife and I started dating and she first moved in with me she begged to bring her childhood cat over. We had 3 cats in a small 2 bedroom apartment we shared with my brother. It was not feasible. But when we moved out, she was finally able to bring him into the house we were renting.

This man hid in the basement for the first two weeks. It became a game to find out where he was hiding that day. My favorite was when he found his way into the drawer underneath our dryer.

We eventually got him out, but he would always hide in the closet upstairs or behind the couch. I would always make sure to spend time sitting with him and just rubbing his chin and scratching his butt (he loved butt skitchins).

He started to warm up to me.We started a gang called the Stinky Bois so i could stand in solidarity with his stinkiness.

He was the best brother to our Chicken Nugget and taught her how to be a well behaved cat. Vex'ahlia was a little too much for him. But Chicken will teach her everything he wasn't able to.

Even before Yoshimi died he was already cementing his place as my best bro. After she died though, he was so important in the healing process for me. Part of me knew that since he was the oldest now, I had to give him as much love as I could while I still had the chance.

Today we said goodbye to him, and it's been really hard. I'll miss him meowing at me any time he jumped up on the bed or couch. I'll miss the fur on his paw pads. I'll miss falling asleep with one hand on his belly while he slept on his back. I'll miss the scooby doo runs on hardwood floors. I'll miss the aggressive licking whenever i scratch his butt. I'll even miss shaving the mats out of his fur.

Yoshimi Paul Seabright

When my parents moved to Florida in 2008 and I stayed behind, they took the cats I had growing up with them. A few months later @kathrynbuckner1013 showed up at my doorstep and pulled a kitten out of her hoodie pocket. I fell in love. She had named the cat Spyro but I never thought it fit.

Over the next couple years my friends all gave her nicknames (the most popular was Paul). I eventually decided to call her Yoshimi for several reasons. She was feisty and would often swat people. The people were the Pink Robots. But there was one robot that loved her more than anything. A robot that learned how to love because of Yoshimi. That robot was me.

This cat followed me everywhere, both figuratively and literally. She's been with me through every move, every failed relationship, every lost job, and never stopped loving me. Even at my lowest, I had her to come home to. Even when i couldnt afford to keep the lights on, she always came first and had food to eat. She was the only thing keeping me going at certain points in my life. She would've been lost without me. My, how the tables have turned.

In 2019 I thought I was going to lose you over a gum infection. It was worth the $2000 to give you another five years, even if it meant having no teeth. She was my little gummy bear.

It's her time to say goodbye. I will always love the best friend that I spent half of my life with. I love you. I'll never forget you. And remember to take a left at the wheatgrass. ❤️ by @callingcascade

These photos were taken 13 years apart. My parents' cat loverboy is crossing that rainbow bridge today. I'll miss chasing him around the house every time I come to visit.

Summer has been insanely busy. I've been working an admittedly unhealthy amount, but it's been fun doing new stuff this year. Soon, I can get some sleep.

4. I never made a proper post for him, but we took in this fella named Danzig after his owner became super allergic to him. Their loss. He's a damn sweetie.

9-10. Okay, this is an important one, kids. It's very important that you support your local scene. Meet your local musicians. Go see them play. Everywhere. I've seen @d_mill2 play in crappy VFW halls, Dive Bars, Abandoned movie theaters, and apple orchard and everywhere in between. But to see him absolutely crush it on the stage at Pine Knob was a moment I had to be there for. This show was one of the highlights of the entire season for me.
11-12. This was the next big one. Seeing @particlekid on that same stage the very next week, getting really weird for a crowd that wasn't ready for it and being able to chat with them throughout the day was so much fun.

Last night I saw @crackjawmusic for the first time since 2013(?). I missed this band so much. Their shows were always high energy, good times. There were people at the show that I didn't know, but I recognized them from shows 20 years ago at the Modern Exchange. Being able to rage with these strangers that I also consider friends isn't a new concept for me, but this is a group of people I didn't realize I missed until last night. It might also be the first time i heard them play anything off Stiff, and ive been listening to this band since 2004. Anyway, i know it was supposed to be a "one more for the road" kind of show, but It would be really cool if we can do it again someday.

Honestly should've just called it the Buccee's tour with special appearances by The Flaming Lips. 10 Buccees stops within a week. Saw my aunt for the first time since 2018 when i was on my way to a different Lips show. I saw a bunch of friends I haven't seen in years at the shows. I also got to pet a cat every day I was gone. That's a success in my book. I dreamed this dream would never end.

Show number 31. Psych Fest. This is the one that I won tickets to. While the setlist was shorter than the night before, the new song sounded better at this show. They even gave me the hookup on merch. Now it's time to rest before an endurance drive back to Detroit.

Show number 30(!) I drove way too long to see this show, but they played two sets, a ton of bangers, a new song, and met up with a few freaks along the way.

Last video was recorded by someone I don't know that insisted they send it to me right there at the show.

Show number 29. Man, what a shitshow. They held the show outdoors for some reason, and a thunderstorm rolled in right as doors opened. This delayed the show, and Friko had to cut 3 songs. Still great, and I'll see them when they come through.

Modest Mouse came on next, and it was all trouble. Pouring rain damaging their gear, high winds. They killed it for the time they were on stage, and it sucks that they were a big selling point on this tour for me. They had to stop after a few songs because the storm was coming back. The venue had us shelter inside a fully empty and usable venue a couple of times throughout the show.

Once the crowd was cleared to go back outside, the lips started setting up. And in classic "Don't Doubt the Rainbow" fashion, the weather cleared up enough for them to play a full set, if not scaled back a bit on lighting. They played great, and AJ is a beast on the slide, but you could tell the night had worn down the crowd and crews. Props to the crew, especially for holding shit together the best they could, given the circumstances.

My biggest question is why this show was outside when the forecast was calling for storms. This could've been figured out days before the bands even arrived at the venue.

I also witnessed a first as some kid who was on the rail the entire show got jumped by security before the encore. I'm not sure what he did, but it looked like a case of overly aggressive security guards who took the job so they could fight people. I think he accidentally took a balloon to the face or something.

It doesn't have to be a good show to be a memorable one. Still had a good time.
