POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thank you Lake Placid! We had a great time performing for the community, working with the kids (although we are a little concerned at the somewhat tragic endings of the stories they wrote), and taking in some fall colors in the mountains.

We are thrilled to announce our new Executive Director, Taylor Peterson!

"An accomplished hornist and arts administrator, Taylor brings nearly two decades of performance experience and more than a decade of nonprofit arts leadership to Calliope Brass. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Northwestern University, and New York University, Taylor has performed with ensembles including Chamber Orchestra of New York, The Juilliard Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Bronx Opera, New England Symphonic Ensemble, and most recently, with Calliope Brass as part of the Summer on the Hudson concert series in July.

"In his professional career, Taylor has led advancement initiatives for leading NYC arts organizations, including The New York Historical, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He currently serves as Senior Director at CCS Fundraising, consulting with arts and cultural nonprofits across the Northeast on fundraising strategy, campaigns, and organizational growth."

Yes, we did immediately throw him onto the front lines by making him sub with us, because a certain amount of hazing is tradition.

Welcome to the team, Taylor! by @calliopebrass

2. Or, you can come to the West Harlem Piers tomorrow, June 24th at 7pm, where we'll be playing a concert as part of Summer on the Hudson! You can find more info at https://riversideparknyc.org/event/summer-pops-with-calliope-brass-2 (link in bio)
