#ThrowbackThursday to April, when Rutgers Prep welcomed Calliope Brass to campus as this year’s Krish Kohli Visiting Artists. Over two days at RPS, the brass quintet worked with students from across all three divisions. They shared insights about music and pursuing a career in it. Many of our students also had the opportunity to play alongside the group. Their time at RPS culminated in a wonderful concert in the Choir Room of the Music Building. Thank you to Calliope Brass for sharing your time and music with us! The Krish Kohli Music Series honors Krish Kohli ’20, whose love of music left a lasting mark on Rutgers Prep. We are forever grateful to the Kohli family for helping make this program possible and for continuing to support opportunities like this for our students.

📻 Now streaming on Mixcloud and livingclassicalradio.com ✨ Music shaped by breath – and by interruption. This edition of Living Classical moves between sustained attention and sudden fracture: from Rob Funkhouser’ Respiratory Cycle, where sound unfolds around the physical motion of breathing, to Igor Santos’ portrait RE, which builds a looping, cinematic surface before breaking it open with the recorded voice of Paulo Freire, pressing against the tension between escape and engagement. Featuring music by Mary Denney, Sebastian Zhang, Ted Hearne, Charles Daniels, David Crowell, Hitomi Oba, Chiyoko Szlavnics, David Acevedo, Natalie Dietterich, and Caroline Shaw – with performances by soloists and ensembles from across the contemporary classical landscape. Support Living Classical on Patreon for $8/month to access early episodes and follow the curatorial process behind the show. Subscribe on Mixcloud to keep up with new episodes and the full archive. . . . @marymdenney_music @unheardofensemble @sebperc @nickmaysax @hedtearne @adamtendler @funkoftherob @charissa.garrigus @chadanielscomposer @borderlandsensemble @david_crowell @danlippel @makguitar @hitomimusic @calliopebrass @ensemble_contrechamps @davidacevedomusic @igorseiti @ensembledalniente @nataliedietterich @kcvitas @carolineadelaideshaw @vanessa.w.a.g.n.e.r
