Taking learning beyond the classroom! 🥩👩‍🍳

Our ProStart educators recently headed to Chico for a hands-on Professional Development experience with the California Beef Council. From touring the Chico State Meat Lab and learning Beef 101 to watching a half cow fabrication and exploring a local dairy farm, educators gained firsthand farm-to-table insight into the beef industry.

Through the Toast Technology Education Grant, powered by @toasttab, five ProStart schools received Toast POS equipment to give students hands-on experience with ordering, guest payments, kitchen communication and more. Students can earn a Toast certificate!

Our ProStart students will get hands-on experience preparing a four-course meal for a large crowd, from prep to plating and everything in between.

A great few days at the NRAEF Hospitality Pathways Conference in Washington, D.C., focused on workforce development and strengthening opportunities across the hospitality industry. 🤝

It was especially great to connect with our Restaurant Ready partner, @entrenous_empower, and fellow leaders from state restaurant foundations for meaningful knowledge sharing, collaboration and a little fun along the way!

We’re proud to celebrate Paige Vigiletti, a senior at San Diego State University and one of this year’s Guy Fieri Foundation ( @guysfoundation ) scholarship recipients! The scholarship was created with the support of longtime CRF supporter and past board member @guyfieri!

Growing up in her family’s dinner theater inspired Paige’s passion for hospitality and showed her how food, service and entertainment can bring people together. This scholarship will help fund her final year of college as she develops the leadership and operational skills to build a career supporting restaurants and hospitality businesses.
