Finally had the chance to check out @delsur.bakery and was in awe of not just their pastries, but also their beautiful space. 😍 I went on a Thursday while my cousin was in town visiting and there was no line. We were in and out within 15 minutes.

I’ve had the Longanisa Croissant and Pandan Basque Cake when @jtlerias was still doing popups in @sidepractice.coffee, so I made sure to try new items!

In the box:
• Turon Danish
• Food of the Gods Muffin
• Calamansi Chamomile Bun
• Chai Roll
• Seasonal Galette
• Ube Oatmeal Cream Pie
• Bibingka

The hubs and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this past Wednesday with breakfast at @lulacafe in Logan Square. It was the first time there for both of us and we were blown away by how delicious everything was. Definitely worth driving in morning traffic on 90/94. 😂

A couple of weeks ago after a weekend of camping at Rock Cut State Park, some friends and I enjoyed a delicious brunch at @27_aluna in Rockford, Illinois. Chef @james_patrick_alberto even came out for a bit to chat with all of us. It was so great connecting with another fellow Filipino small biz owner. Looking forward to going back and checking out their dinner menu!

Cooling down with a bubble shake from @officialvillagecreamery 🧋

I’ve been going to Village Creamery since I was in high school (nope, I won’t tell you what years 🙃) and I’m so happy that this family-owned business is still in operation. It’s definitely a beloved spot in suburban Niles.

My usual go-to bubble shake flavor is mango, but I had to try their newest flavor - “Fresh Leches.” It’s made with three types of milk and contains fresh strawberries. So yummy! 🥛🍓

📣 You can have any of their ice cream flavors made into a bubble shake. Popular flavors are Filipino classics like ube, pandan, and halo-halo!

My cousin from Las Vegas was in town last week and she had a craving for freshly made pasta. So we ventured downtown to @acantochicago for a boozy brunch. 🍝 🍷

It was my first time dining there as well and I will definitely be back!

Did I have @milkymilkyicecream two nights in a row from two different Filipino restaurants? You betcha.

Milky Milky Ice Cream is a woman-owned small business that produces small batches of delicious ice cream in the Ravenswood neighborhood on the north side of Chicago.
