Big news - our self-guided residency program for 2027 is online now and available to book!

CAMP's self-guided residencies started as an experiment in 2024 - slotted in between our workshops, they offered a chance to experience this incredible location and vibrant creative community at your own pace. Over the last three years they've grown into an intrinsic part of what CAMP does, and one of the most productive periods of the season.

Next year, we're running six weeks of springtime residencies from March 15th until the end of April. It's a beautiful time of year here in the Pyrenees, as the snow melts, the rivers and waterfalls swell, the birds and mammals burst into life and the lush forests start showing shades of green.

Book any length, from one catalytic week to an extended six week stay - full board accommodation is included. You get a private room with a mountain view, all food and drinks (all dietary requirements catered for), and unlimited use of CAMP's excellent facilities. The team will be onsite to help you with tech, installs, materials, local info, hiking routes and anything else you need. Also included: return transport to CAMP. Just get yourself to Toulouse, and we'll pick you up.

The usual payment splits are available to keep things affordable, but places are extremely limited, so act fast if you want to come.

One of the last opportunities to come to CAMP this year!

"Horse Sings from Cloud" is a five-day residential workshop in the Pyrenean mountains, led jointly onsite by Anne Bourne and Lea Bertucci, with a special guest contribution from Lawrence English. Taking Pauline Oliveros' practice of Deep Listening as a starting point, the workshop will explore listening as attention, perception, composition, improvisation, care and collective practice.

Last couple of places, grants and payment plans available.

What does it mean to compose for musicians whose practice is built around making decisions in the moment?

Writing for improvisers opens up a very different relationship between composer, performer and score: rather than determining every detail, composition can establish situations, materials, restrictions or possibilities, leaving space for individual interpretation and collective invention.

Led by pianist, composer and improviser Pat Thomas, this workshop explores the territory between composition and improvisation, asking how much - or how little - a composer needs to specify, and what kinds of notation and structure can make genuinely spontaneous music possible.

Nothing to pay upfront, grants available, payment splits too. 🔗 Link in bio! by @camp_fr

CAMP Online Residency – A Concrete Approach to a Music to Come with Kassel Jaeger – BEAN associate grant

€159.50 with BEAN 50% off | Online | Deadline: 12 October 2026

Developed from Francois’s sold out series’ in 2024/25, this online workshop is a unique opportunity to explore the ideas, history and forward trajectories of musique concrete, led by composer, writer, theoretician and Director of INA GRM, Francois J. Bonnet (aka Kassel Jaeger).

Drawing on the heritage of musique concrete and acousmatic music, this course aims to revise the conceptual foundations that traditionally underpin musical thinking and to take a more experiential approach to composition. Drawing on an original body of theory as well as tangible examples, the aim of the session is to open up new paths of creation, enabling each participant to articulate their relationship to musical creation more clearly, to redefine the issues at stake and to find new creative routes to explore.

The brilliant Hamill Industries are back at CAMP!

In an era dominated by digital creation, Hamill Industries stands apart for their expansive and tactile approach to image-making. Their work emerges from a world where invention meets intuition - where self-built devices, practical effects, and experiments with everyday materials coexist with AI, analog devices and digital tech.

This workshop offers an in-depth journey through the duo's experimental practice, revealing how they merge analogue and digital processes, science and art, precision and play. Participants will gain insight into how Hamill Industries develop their projects - from early prototypes to complex audiovisual performances - through open experimentation, trial and error, and the construction of custom-made tools. The objective is to explore Hamill Industries' creative process through their key works, focusing on their experimental methods of device-building, material exploration, sound integration, and artificial intelligence. Participants will engage with the duo's unique approach to sensory visual storytelling and the convergence of technologies.

@stefanelliotmaier returns to CAMP with a new iteration of his previously sold out workshop - his last series, "Inhuman Listening" proved to be an exceptionally inspiring week of listening, discussion and exploration. We're very excited to welcome him back for a new course that pushes these ideas into deeper and more speculative territory.

Second edition added! Seth's original (sold-out) workshop was a huge success, and we're thrilled to add a new iteration for 2026!

In this unique workshop, Seth Horvitz (aka Rrose) will lead us in an exploration of "listening with alien ears". Each two-hour session will feature 2-3 compositions (varying in length from 13-50 minutes) selected by Rrose to elucidate the influences and ideas that have guided their expanded vision of what "techno" music can be.

The broader goal is to build an abstract understanding of sound and music: to listen without fixed expectations or inherited biases, and to use that perspective as a tool within your own work. by @camp_fr

Last few places remaining on Claire's workshop ⏩ link in bio

Artist and composer Claire Rousay presents a five-part workshop on burnout, subjectivity, and creative renewal through listening.

This workshop is designed for artists facing burnout, creative blocks, or stagnation. Each session builds upon the previous, weaving together subjective awareness, listening practices, and creative exercises. Whether you're feeling stuck, lost, or simply uninspired, this workshop invites you to explore listening not just as a skill, but as a creative lifeline. Pulling from deep listening, artistic process philosophies, and personal storytelling, this is a space for revival especially for those working in sound or interdisciplinary practices. It is a workshop for stuck creatives of any discipline, using Listening as a way to overcome some of that blockage. by @camp_fr
