So that's a wrap... our final post from this Awesome trip. ❤️

We finished our adventure with a couple of days in the beautiful Dordogne, including a fun 7-hour canoe trip down the river. Stunning scenery, crystal-clear water, plenty of swimming stops, and the perfect way to soak up our last few days.

From there, we headed to the gorgeous Alsace region, exploring the picture-perfect towns of Eguisheim and Colmar before spending a few days in Strasbourg with special friends. Great company, amazing food, and the perfect ending to an unforgettable journey.

Over the past few months, we've travelled through 4 countries and covered 8,340 miles! 🚐✨

It's been an absolute blast, and we're already planning our next adventure. Thank you to everyone who's followed us along for the ride. Until next time... ❤️

Our favourite stop of the trip has to be the Spanish Pyrenees. 🏔️ We spent just over two weeks exploring and hiking through its incredible national parks, and every day left us even more in awe, Just WOW!
We found some of the most stunning high-altitude park-ups, where we stayed cool and spent hours watching the marmots – definitely one of the highlights of our adventure! 🐿️
whilst hiking, nothing beat an ice-cold mountain swims to cool off. Crystal-clear glacial water, breathtaking scenery, and memories we'll never forget. The Spanish Pyrenees truly stole our hearts, we will be back.

So we completely fell in love with the Costa Brava and ended up staying for a couple of weeks! We were lucky enough to have some lovely visitors while we were there too, which made it even more special.
We started calling it the "Spanish Amalfi" because of its stunning coastline, crystal-clear water, and beautiful little coves. We honestly can't believe we'd never been before!
It's definitely a place we'll be coming back to. 💙🇪🇸 by @campervan_rambles

Viva España ! So, no dramas getting Billie back in to the EU (phew) and excited to now explore Spain.

We made our way inland and headed to the beautiful touristic town of Ronda, taking a couple days on our way to explore stunning white washed Andalusian hill top towns and historic castle remains from Moorish times.

Ronda delivered, a great day walking the town to admire its picturesque bridges, bull ring and old town. Then on to Sentinel de las Bodegas to see this small town with its houses and restaurants built in to the rock with overhangs.

This stop was magical for many reasons, but the most significant was meeting new Dutch friends, Tjako and Joyce, such great people, good fun and so much in common.

We shared the next few days together, as we walked the incredible Caminito Del Rey with Tjako, camped up in great spots and enjoyed Joyce’s special curry. We also found ‘Bar Pedro’ in a great little town park up with fresh, pure hilltop spring water.

We said ‘adios’ to Tjako and Joyce as they headed to Portugal and we headed to Granada.

Granada has low emission zone restrictions, so poor old Rambles had to wait outside the city and we took a tram in. Granada is a stunning city, and not just because of the famous Alhambra palaces and fortress; a Beautiful cathedral, Moorish history with many old buildings and all set to the back drop of the high Sierra Nevada mountains.

Sam’s specific draw was Sacromonte, the fascinating gypsy quarter, with dwellings in caves and home of Flamenco. The area has many flamenco bars.

A fantastic day, we walked miles, but with Spain gripped in a heatwave we also baked in over 35 degrees. We had to take special care and attention to poor Billie, keeping her wet, in the shade and not walking on hot pavements. #vanlifespain #caminitodelrey #granadaspain by @campervan_rambles

After tearing ourselves away from Essaouira, we made our way up the Atlantic coast.

Battled our way through Casablanca’s traffic to see the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, built on the edge of the Atlantic, it is the second largest mosque in Africa and a very impressive sight.
Stopped at Moulay Bousselham which has a beautiful blue lagoon; a critical Moroccan coastal wetland reserve for migratory birds. Our campsite was renowned for their fish tagines, we ordered ours and were ‘blown away’, easily the best food we have eaten in the whole of Morocco, the flavours were amazing.

Then onward to Larache, a lovely old walled town with a lively souk and market. We bought fresh fish, lots of fruit and vegetables, including the biggest and delicious blueberries we have ever eaten; we are definitely going to miss the cheap prices to be found in Moroccan Markets.

Next stop the touristic white washed town of Asilah. An artistic town, its old but beautifully kept medina is awash with murals and a joy to stroll around.

Finally Tangier and what a surprise. A beautiful and touristic city that is very clean and modern. The old Medina is a mass of small alleys and full of shops selling Moroccan goodies. Sam couldn’t resist and yes another Berber cushion found its way into her bag. #travelmorocco #vanlife #vanlifemorocco by @campervan_rambles

Oh Essaouira, we will miss you.
We spent a week in and around Essaouira at a fantastic campsite and Nick at a kite surfing school. The town is beautiful, even though it has become a little touristic. The old town medina is the usual maize of old narrow streets with a mass of shops, cafes and Riads.
The large fishing port is full of fishing boats and plenty of amazing displays of fresh fish for sale or to be cooked to eat at a table nearby. The old ramparts protect the city from a lively Atlantic Ocean and the wind blows strong most days; perfect for kite surfing and surfing.
Nick found a fantastic Kitesurfing School (KSE - http://kiteandsurfessaouira.com) and a great instructor called Hamza to teach him. A complete beginner, after 6 days of 2hr lessons, he was up and moving; still lots to learn to get good, but a great start. The beach is a mix of camels and horses looking for tourists to take a ride and the sea full of surfers and Kitesurfers all finding their space.
The campsite was equally as brilliant. A beautiful spot 15 minutes from town in the middle of nowhere. So relaxed, a beautiful pool and such friendly hosts. We could have easily stayed a lot longer and really hope to repeat the experience again one day. #essaouira #kitesurfing #vanlifemorocco #livingthedream by @campervan_rambles

We loved Imsouane, we spent 4 nights here parked up on the seafront. A renown surf, yoga skateboarding & fishing village, with lots of vibey cafes & beautiful sunsets. by @campervan_rambles

We loved this area, we stayed 3 nights—beach days, sunset vibes, and a proper switch-off. Nick even squeezed in an afternoon surf, and we cycled the beautiful 4.5km coastal path into Taghazout. Such a chilled, surfy place, with loads of juice bars, cafés and great spots to eat 🌊✨

Onwards across the Anti Atlas Mountains and bizarre to see the world’s most leading technology mixing it with some of the old Mud built Kasbahs.

The amazing Noor Ouarzazate Solar Complex is the world’s largest concentrated solar power plant, whereas in Ouarzazate and surrounding areas there are beautiful old kasbahs some restored and some left crumbling.

We had fun at the Atlas film studios and were shocked at how many blockbuster movies (or at least parts of them) have been filmed there over the years; including, Gladiator, the Mummy, Jewel of the Nile, Cleopatra and many others. We even got to star in our own little movie whilst on tour.

Then on to the historic Ait Ben Haddou, this old Ksar (fortified village) was stunning, but gets full of tourists by day, so we waited to visit in the evening so we could enjoy it more.

Next stop the coast… #vanlife #sprintervanlife by @campervan_rambles

Two stunning gorges, one mountain hike, one canyon hike, some dodgy roads and a lot of mind blowing scenery, what a wonderful couple days.

First stop, the towering Todgha gorge. We hiked the 10Km circuit up, around and through this stunning gorge. We then drove onwards, up higher and higher to cross over to the Dades river valley. What a dramatic drive! The Dades valley has beautiful deep gorges, winding roads and steep declines, before reaching ‘Monkey Fingers Canyon’, a bizarre huge rock formation.

We hired a guide to hike us through the canyon and its labyrinth of narrow alleyways carved in to the rock by running water over the years.

Big kudos to our van ‘Rambles’ who did us proud negotiating the challenging roads, steep inclines and declines with their switch back corners. by @campervan_rambles

We travelled down a scenic route from Ifrane through the Middle Atlas Mountains and headed for the desert and the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Parked at a rural homestay for a night with a tasty tagine for dinner, before continuing further South to Merzouga on the edge of Erg Chebbi’s incredible dunes. An amazing experience, and lucky to be the only van staying a couple of nights next to a beautiful hotel with swimming pool to cool off in. Fun to see all the camels roaming and waiting to take tourists out across the dunes.

We got slowly cooked in the van, a good dusting of sand all over and shared the van with a million flies, but it was all worth it.

Took quad bikes out to race up and down the dunes. It was amazing fun and an incredible sunset view topped it all off. #ergchebbi #vanlifedreams #vanlifemorocco by @campervan_rambles

We had a fabulous stop at Fez and stayed 2 nights in a guarded parking spot for just €4 for 24 hrs, situated right next to the entrance to the Old Medina. We loved Fez and can see why it is renown to be the spiritual & Cultural heart of Morocco,. We walked miles getting lost in it's warren of steep narrow lanes, visiting the tannery and bazaars, apparently there are 9,000+ alleys and it really is, very easy to get lost!!! Feeling very thankful for google maps!! 😀 by @campervan_rambles
