Do you have or know of a special spot that is ready for a tree?

CFRP will be hosting a planting event and tree giveaway to commemorate Nov. 8th and provide resources to our communities for our continuing #restoration efforts! This is becoming somewhat of a tradition for us, and this year we are very excited to be able to offer fruit and native trees as well as native seeds to anyone in the recovering burn scar areas (#Campfire, #Bearfire/#Northcomplexfire, #parkfire , etc).

#Register for the giveaway OR sign a group up HERE:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSegEHuILEPag8CCjUo5BzFHdskWePmzz5AKkpaTAbkm71SmKw/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=115566697609740464985
(Live link in bio!)

You can receive trees in one of two ways:
You can come by Roots and Wings Farm & Community Garden and simply pick up a tree between the hours of 11 AM and 3 PM.
(ONE tree per property! No early birds please). #noearlybirds
Or better yet, organize a "planting partner" group to plant two or three trees in your neighborhood or at a community site. For those of you who form a group, you'll get first choice of trees! We'll provide morning coffee, snacks, instructions, and compost.
You'll provide the location, labor and love.

*This event is generously supported by the Arbor Day Foundation and SageSure
Thank you!!!

CFRP, along with the Chico State Ecotherapy Program , Butte PBA, Butte Environmental Council, and the Biochar Coalition have joined forces to host an AMAZING "Good Fire Weekend" on Saturday, March 1st and Sunday, March 2nd!!
These events are free, and open to the public, with a special focus on Butte Creek Canyon (Day 1) and Concow/Yankee Hill (Day 2).

❤️‍🔥 SATURDAY 9:30 - 3:00 ~ Day 1: Community Pyrotherapy!
This event will be led by the Chico State Ecotherapy Program and the Butte PBA (Prescribed Burn Association), and will be held at the Butte Creek Ecological Preserve (BCEP) in collaboration with the Mechoopda Tribe of Chico Rancheria, with a focus on connecting neighbors in Butte Creek Canyon.
Featuring an Eco-Cultural Fire presentation from cultural practitioner He-Lo Ramirez (Mechoopda), a fire ecology nature walk and community pyrotherapy with Blake Ellis and David Mitchell, as well as a kids' activity station.

*Note: Parking is extremely limited at BCEP! Please try to carpool.

🔥 SUNDAY 10:00 - 4:00 ~ Day 2: Good Fire Workshop!
This day is being led by us at CFRP, gathering at beautiful Lake Concow Campground.
We'll be joining our Concow neighbors and diving into such beautiful things as: Indigenous knowledge of cultural burning, seeds, and biodiversity (Ali Meders-Knight (Mechoopda), Dewey Barnes (Mechoopda), Alice Lincoln-Cook (Karuk) and others!); Fire history, behavior and geography with Zeke Lunder of The Lookout; and Biochar creation and demonstration with Ken Scherer of the Biochar Coalition.
Our own Cassidy Wear will be making a delicious lunch, and we'll be doing our thing, sharing resources throughout the day. We hope to bring in folks from the Konkow Valley Band of Maidu Indians as well - it is their traditional land, after all.

*Many thanks to #PRPD, the #NeighborToNeighbor grant and #californiavolunteers /Office of the Governor for making this event possible.

👋 Paradise residents – Please fill out a quick survey to help our composting programs! ♻️

🔗 Link in bio!

👉 Some of you may be aware of the new CA State Laws that passed recently that mandate the diversion of organic materials from landfills. In an effort to create a closed loop system, it’s important to conserve our organic materials to create compost locally.

💭 We want to hear your thoughts about small scale composting in Paradise to process all food waste materials.

🗓️ Please fill the survey out before May 5th! Thank you! 🙏 taken in Paradise, California by @campfire.restorationproject

🔗 Sign up at the link in our bio

We’re celebrating our new collaboration with @buttefiresafe and @paradiseprpd by building Johnson-Su Bioreactors ♻️ in collaboration with the Doom the Broom event.

We’ll be using this awful invasive plant 🌾❌ to regenerate soil health in the forest with the Johnson-Su Bioreactor process.

Help build the reactor, pull broom, and enjoy the beauty of our local parks!
