One of my favorite parts of being back in Lima is eating the foods I grew up with. Pollo a la brasa is a typical dish from Lima. It is rotisserie chicken cooked over charcoal with home made salsas and chilis. This was my Sunday treat growing up.

Food has such a powerful way of connecting us to a place and a memory. No matter how much time passes, there are certain flavors that always taste like home.

It was a busy summer, including a very special trip back home to Peru. I’m excited to be back in the kitchen and sharing more with you.

Whenever I return to Peru, I come back inspired. By the food, of course, but also by the people, the traditions, and all of the little things that remind me why I started Camucha’s Kitchen in the first place.

As the busy fall season begins, I’m excited to bring a little of that inspiration back into my kitchen here in the Bay Area. by @camuchas_kitchen
