Last Tuesday night was everything. ✨ La Cocina’s 21st Annual Gala brought together an extraordinary community of supporters, chefs, and entrepreneurs to celebrate the butterfly effect of this work. A flutter here. Ripples everywhere. A special thank you to Griff Harsh of @fifth_space_5s for a remarkable $100,000 contribution that set the tone for the night. This evening would not have been possible without our generous Presenting Sponsor @usbank and Table Sponsors @bloomberg @jpmorgan and @chase, Marathon Statera Project and @wellsfargo. To our Host Chef and La Cocina board member @besharamheena of @besharamsf, and to the extraordinary guest chefs who gave their time and talent: @gabymaeda_, Chef Ollie and Rachel of @hildaandjessesf @em.manu.l @cheftudavidphu. We are so honored you were at our table. Much love to Graduate Reyna Maldonado of @lasguerrerascocina for her keynote remarks, highlighting the ripples of impact that her mother Ofelia has put into motion with their business. A special moment behind the scenes: La Cocina program participants @camuchas_kitchen , Good Roux, @saboreskomali , and @xula_guatemalan_cuisine took their learning into the kitchen, working alongside our guest chefs in real time. This is our program in action. And to the La Cocina businesses who brought the sweetest close to the evening: @calisweetcakes @cuivrebakery @dulce_mana20 @hippiechaiofficial @lunarbakerysf and @nusa.sf . Your food was the perfect final ripple. Thank you to our partners @alison_events @minnesotastreetproject and @paulaleduc for making the evening feel as beautiful as it did. 📸: @melanieduerkopp #WeAreLaCocina #SFFood #ImmigrantEntrepreneurs #WomenInFood

A thriving economic ecosystem is at the heart of La Cocina’s legacy. Nearly 100 active businesses demonstrate the power of entrepreneurship to transform lives and communities. La Cocina-born businesses generate $20+ million in annual revenue and have created 250+ jobs, providing stability and opportunity for their families and neighborhoods. 66% of La Cocina businesses also support relatives outside their households, extending that impact across borders and generations. Every dollar spent with a La Cocina entrepreneur multiplies. It recirculates within local economies, creates jobs, and builds wealth where it is most needed. This is more than food, it is an economy that truly works for everyone, fostering self-sufficiency and brighter futures.
