I went to Palais Garnier for photos and left with a ballet moment 🥰

Palais Garnier, easily top 3 on my Paris must-sees. Honestly more fun than the Eiffel Tower? Seriously underrated and so insta/TikTok-worthy 🤭

I went in thinking a few classic poses would do, but the tour inspired me to do something more me: ballet! 🩰✨ Inspired by Chagall’s ceiling painting, of course

If it’s your first time, do the group tour. We got to go near the stage, which was the best part 🎭 See my 5th pic!

Side note: I regret not buying the pink pointe shoe keychain (trying to be less of a hoarder 🫣). Also learned there’s a whole ballet-themed manga series?? Whattt

First and last visit to Opéra Garnier before it allegedly closes for ~5 years of renovation starting mid-2027 🥹

Had no outfit planned for this last-minute visit, but the skirt I nearly didn’t pack saved the day!

Not in the mood to pose, so I danced it off😌

Years of hiatus from ballet training have their limits though 😅🩰

Notes: I took the group tour at the last slot, which was perfect because there were fewer people once it ended.
But be mindful of how long you spend taking photos during the tour, because you might not have enough time to revisit 1-2 spots for more footage, like I did.

Montmartre made me think about how often art begins in places where people simply need somewhere to belong.

What starts as a refuge for artists, dreamers and people on the margins can eventually become the very place people travel across the world to see.

And perhaps that’s the bittersweet part — the people who dared to create and dream when no one believed in them are often celebrated only much later. Yet wherever art is given space, it finds a way to flourish. 🤍

This tour gave me a glimpse into the stories behind some of Montmartre’s most iconic places — from artists’ gathering spots to Sacré-Cœur, built in the aftermath of war and division as a symbol of forgiveness, unity and hope.

Ended our little Montmartre tour with a great food recommendation from my colleague — and honestly, Le Relais Gascon was such a good way to end the tour. 🇫🇷✨

Places featured:

📍 Rue de l’Abreuvoir
One of the prettiest streets in Paris, leading towards the famous pink La Maison Rose.

📍 La Maison Rose 🌸
More than just a picturesque spot from Emily in Paris — it was once a humble gathering place for artists. Picasso, Dalí, Camus and Matisse were among those who passed through, while Montmartre painter Maurice Utrillo immortalised it in his 1916 painting La Maison Rose à Montmartre.

📍 Sacré-Cœur
Born from the aftermath of war and division, the basilica was envisioned as a symbol of forgiveness, unity and hope. Its white dome rises 83m above Montmartre, making it one of the neighbourhood’s most recognisable landmarks.

🍽️ Food recommendation: Le Relais Gascon
The duck confit was so good! 😋
The salads are HUGE
I forgot to try the onion soup recommended by a friend 🥲
Would probably skip the beef bourguignon here 😅

Montmartre, the village that stole the heart of Paris. 🥖🍷

Long before it became the city’s iconic creative hub, Montmartre was actually an independent, rural village covered in vineyards and windmills.

It wasn’t until the late 19th century that it transformed into a legendary haven for bohemian artists like Picasso, Van Gogh, and Renoir. 🎨✨

📍🥖🥪Don’t forget to stop by the bakery/boulangerie Le Grenier à Pain before for the best sandwich to accompany your tour!

Bukchon Hanok Village: One of those places I keep coming back to 🏯

Most people skip this street once they’ve seen it — but not me.

Stop by every now and then, you might discover something new tucked around every corner

We stumbled upon YLESS — a K-beauty flagship store tucked into a hanok, easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. They offer free personal color analysis + a personal makeup demo, walk-in with an on-site reservation. They were also handing out complimentary Korean snacks which were delicious, and we took pictures with 2 Jinus 🥹

Also stopped by the Tamburins here — this branch has a different scent assortment from the others, with a few exclusive to this location. Worth a sniff even if you’ve been to another store already

If Bukchon is already on your Seoul itinerary, slot in a little extra time to wander — this neighborhood deserves a second visit

🍵 Osulloc Tea House Bukchon: Will never get bored of their green tea treats. Really love the interior even though it’s been 4 years since I first visited & 3rd time visiting 🥰
The ice blended drink is my go-to, and will green tea cheese cake if I have friends with me hehe

🖼️ Slide 5: This time I also stumbled upon a cute Ghibli-vibes cafe called Dotori Garden nearby. Queue was way too long so we skipped it this time, but if you’re a Studio Ghibli fan, it’ll be a fun addition to your next trip down

Places I managed to clock on my solo trip in Kamakura-Enoshima from my favourite K-Drama this year (so far) 🇯🇵🎬 + some must see/eat places😋

Was gonna explore Kamakura & Enoshima for the scenic spots, but after realising some scenes from Netflix’s Can This Love Be Translated? 이 사랑 통역 되나요? was filmed there, I ended up with a little K-drama side quest 🥹

Hunting down a few of the drama’s filming spots while made the trip feel even more special since I really connected with the show🥰

A few spots I found along the way:

My favourite colour, my favourite dress, and probably the most fitting occasion I’ll ever have to wear it. 💖

I’ve taken this dress out a few times already, but never got a proper OOTD because the locations just didn’t do it justice. This Legally Blonde backdrop, though? It finally felt like my dress had found its moment.

Been a long time since I’d watched a musical, I forgot how magical live theatre can be. Huge shoutout to the incredibly talented cast by Singapore Repertory Theatre, happy to see many familiar local faces too!

Legally Blonde will always have a special place in my heart. I grew up watching it, and it got me through so many moments of self-doubt during university. Cafe Yolum photo dump, part 1 🎀🌹

My only regrets:
🩷 Not having my My Melody/ Charmmy Kitty plushie with me for a cameo appearance 😅
🩷 Not making use of pink tiled wall + seat i was sitting at — easily the prettiest backdrop and i wasted it

FYI if you’re heading down 👇
🌹 the “Sweet Rose Garden” menu is only till 24 Jun

But tbh, even without this menu it’s still worth the trip — they had other desserts just as cute, maybe even prettier 😭, that I just couldn’t get to on a solo visit.

Out of my kpop era but certainly not out of my “anything for pretty & pink things” era 💖

Found Cafe Yolum 여름 @yolumlovesyou , I thought it was just a random all-pink cafe in Tokyo (just 1 min walk from Harajuku station),
but turned out to be a kpop cafe! ☺️

Their Sweet Rose Garden menu is only till 24 Jun.

No reservations required, so if you’re heading down, please go early (I queued ~30 mins before it even opened on a Sat 😅)

Sneak peek behind the scenes of our photoshoot in Beijing at Qiyu Studio ✨

Their service was amazing — I was so touched that they not only filmed parts of the process for us, but even compiled everything into a video!

The makeup artist and photographer are incredibly skilled… just look at this transformation 🥹
