A simple offering to G-d and the universe to bring peace to Ukraine and bring healing to refugees of Ukraine and all other wars and nations. 🌻🇺🇦💙💛 Mixed media on wood with windsor and newton oil paint and a Tombow brush pen illustration on random notebook paper. Somehow this took 7 months. The oil paint alone took weeks to dry. I don't have the skills, dexterity right now, or brushes to paint a person overtop, hence the mixed media. 😊 Background aided by a video from @master__temple 🖌🇺🇦

Drawing a cartoon for Friday Night Comics (with my new pen grips) and my hand began shaking. Figured I would break from the comic and draw this. #lettering #procreate #drawing #faith taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @candysblock

👻 Spookytime, 2 pages: The Inner Critic and the Excuse Maker have haunted me so for years that I basically stopped drawing.

Here's a two page scary story for artists, writers, and anyone who wants to make or do anything. I've decided to expose the voices of the monster Inner Critic and the deceptive Excuse Maker. 👻

Do you have an inner critic? As @annelamott explains in Bird by Bird, are you able to capture the voices of the Inner Critic into a jar and then turn the volume down? by @candysblock

Philly Autumn festival with one of my heroes, @candysblock <3 Candy works with @chinatownpcdc as a grant writer and has a lot of background info about Chinatown- one of my favorite if not the favorite place of mine to visit when I'm in Center City.

This festival was well organized, fun, and family friendly. Candy and I made origami cranes and I made this poem with a traditional style rice paper, Ink, and a brush pen. The woman across from me had gorgeous penmanship. She and a worker of the table station translated the poem for me as it to a flower being reflected in the waterby moonlight- how lovely!

We ate delicious comfort food at Sang Kee and indulged in Boba and specially made teas twice lol, not again for a while. I loved the new spot, Onezo next to the Crane Center.

I feel lucky to know Candy who has these special ties to Chinatown, but she's also a really good friend and we share many overlapping qualities such as big art ideas. Maybe we'll collaborate again on a bigger project soon. For now we're each other's cheerleaders . by @candysblock

Shana Tovah - have a sweet and happy New Year! 🍎 May next year bring more health and peace and safety here and around the world. At the same time, what a day; also thinking of those who lost their lives and made sacrifices to save others 25 years ago and all who faced 9/11 related health challenges ever since. 🙏🏻

P.s. Design made using Canva of course, the backround is a design by a selected paid illustrator, not AI. by @candysblock

They go onto glory and their light lingers here in our darkest hours. ✨️ The debt we owe to Gloria Steinem is vast. May her memory be a blessing (1934 - 2026).

Things I drew with hand inflammation and numbness. These paper sizes vary greatly. The first is 9×12 with a huge marker. The second is 5×7 with a wide pen. Then back to 9×12. Just trying some stuff. Also finished 3 pages of diary comic sketches.

If you are reading this, this is your scrolling break. Today I had a nondairy ice cream float 🍨🥤 with my mom and sister! We talked about opening an ice cream 🍦 shop that is 50% vegan options. Also checked Mom's car tire pressure. Toasted some naan bread with tomatoes, olive oil, prosciutto, and seasoning for dinner. And that's a day! Thought you would want to know. How was your day?
