Cherry Fizz Comics 🍒 @luzdelaluna.art as well as friends @nina.cohen1 and others at the "Artists in Solidarity with Ukraine Fundraiser" at @germantownespressobar in collab with @imperfectgallery -- I love how Ana's comic piece evokes sorrow for both the horrors facing Ukrainian refugees and the lack of care often afforded to primarily-BIPOC refugees. Quite a lot in just 4 panels. - Candy

More @candysblock diary comics 🍬: Perfect timing Friday night for the awesome "Drawing Anxiety" comic workshop led by @erin_r_williams for @comicsworkshop #FridayNightComics ...
.
.
.**For legal purposes, this comic bares no resemblence to any persons living or deceased.** 😀
.
.
.Now having said that, what a coincidence that after a finance meeting on Friday at work, I had a full on panic attack (heart racing, nausea) and folks at work had to get me gum and water... not trying to create drama or sympathy that's just a fact.
.
.
.So perfect timing that in this workshop Friday night, we first had to draw three things that give us anxiety, and three things that comfort us. Then we drew a new picture in which one of the comforting things had to battle the anxious things... and the comforting thing was winning!
.
.
.Hence this comic: me and a *fictional* staff member are comforted in our stressful budget meeting by a giant peaceful cup of hot cocoa with 4 arms in a yoga position, handing each of us a smaller mug of hot chocolate ☕️🍫
.
.
.I hope all of my meetings next week go something like this. Felt sooo good to express this on Friday in this comic, and to see many other comic artists share their drawings in the workshop where their comforts were able to defeat their stressors.
.
.
.Hope everyone has a great week!

And just like that... @candysblock also joined #fridaynightcomics and unlocked 🔓✅ a Jersey shore memory. 🌊 Repost: Swipe for a Jersey shore memory comic drawn during the inspiring workshop: "Recovering Memory" led by @jettdraws and held by @comicsworkshop ... good times!
.
.
.
After reading the comic, did this ever happen to you? Or am I the one with the honor of being tied to the dock? 😀
.
.
.
After drawing this, I realized:
1) It was the mid-80s... so of course there was very little parental supervision. I should be grateful for the life jacket. 😅🦺🌊🏊‍♂️
2) I really was extremely unathletic. I did eventually learn how to swim and joined the track team (although I still was not very good).
3) I need a higher-quality deep blue colored pencil. I used a range of types because I don't have a full single set of colors: Faber-Castell Polychromos, Prismacolor, Crayola... the deep blue was some no name that was huge and broke and also broke my pencil sharpener.
4) I need a better pencil sharpener
5) I should probably stick with Copics and Tombow brush pens for Friday nights. So much faster and easier to look polished when you are going fast.

Our fizzy friend @candysblock made this cozy comic about clothes with @by_teresawong and @comicsworkshop . Candy continues to inspire us with her lord of the rings references and her love of the comic “Cathy.” This comic made me think of those things hehe. Please enjoy. #comics #cartoons #copics #art #artist #candysblock #artistoninstagram #penandink #fabercastell #artjournal #sketch #doodle fridaynightcomics #doescapitalizationmatter #fizzy #fizzyfriends #cherry #cherries #clothes #lordoftherings #cathy #cathyguisewite #inspiration by @cherryfizzphilly

THIRST TRAP!! Stay thirsty, my friends.... Reposted from @candysblock Strawberry milk! 🍓🥛 As a cartoonist, I'm not even sure why I drew this. Took me a month! Just thought I should draw a realistic version before I work on a comic version.
