My" generic " little black dog mimi got her wings yesterday. To say im lost is an absolute understatement. My entire life revolved around her life and well being..now there's nothing just emptiness and profound grief. We know it's going to happen and we know it's going to hurt but it truly is part of the deal. To be close to a being this pure there has to be a price. For me that price is deep profound sorrow. But I will go through it again and again just to be loved by a dog. For me wealth is not defined by material things. For me it's having a dog live to almost 16 years and bringing me joy and worth for every single second of those years. I love you my meechie peechie pie 🖤 mimi is now with her pack. by @canecorsolyfe

Michell fka melon from the queens acc. I adopted her about a week ago. She was very shy and fearful but has slowly come out of her shell. She's not the usual giant type dog I have rescued over the years but something about her just broke my heart. After mimi passed away I found myself without a dog for the first time in my adult life and I made the decision I am not going to search for a dog..the dog I'm meant to have will find their way to me. Sounds crazy but I adopted her without even touching her. She was too stressed and fearful at the shelter. Somehow I just knew we were going to be ok. Shelters and rescues are so overwhelmed right now. Please if you're looking for a companion check out rescues and Shelters in your state. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @canecorsolyfe

"LAST CALL!! This is a Hail Mary for Pancake who’s deadline has already passed and is on borrowed time. Unfortunately, we only got to meet Pancake today, but lucky for us, he was able to charm us right away. He was social and sweet and listened to cues to earn some treats. He enjoys playing with toys, and in spite of being a very big boy, gentle on the leash. Pancake will be euthanized tomorrow without placement. Due to his initial fearfulness and a low threshold for arousal when he arrived, he is available to foster only through a rescue. He will require a period of decompression is recommended to allow Pancake to acclimate comfortably to his new environment; force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing Pancake to new and unfamiliar situations. Pancake is approx. 4 years old, 102 pounds and his ID is #247765. IF you can foster and are in the NYC area, fill out the prescreener form linked in our bio asap or reach out to a new hope partner.". by @canecorsolyfe

Get @reshare_app • @boroughbredinbrooklyn The moment I saw Eduardo appear on the shelter website I knew I was going to love him. His photo shows him sitting with a leash wrapped awkwardly around his body in the shelter. His face looks both sweet and sad, and a little resigned. His notes say he hesitated to leave his owner, but did so with encouragement.

Ever since Eduardo has been trying to hide himself. He hides in the back corner of his kennel, he seeks exits, he tries to make himself disappear. But a 60lb dog won’t become invisible even if he wills it to be so.

When we finally meet him he seems a bit braver, but not much. Instead of trembling in his kennel he sits up and peeks at us, and comes forward for the leash. In the yard he goes back to standing near the exits, waiting for one to be opened so he can leave. With patience my dreams come true and Eduardo ambles over to me, and sits by me for a bit. He accepts some gentle pets around his big beautiful head and some affirmations of what a brave boy he is.

Eduardo was surrendered due to a new baby, but at just a year old, in spite of his adult size, he’s just a baby himself. He’s reported to be friendly with all, but so fearful he pees on the elevator going down to the lobby and barks at bikes and people on walks (though is easily redirected according to the owner notes). What Eduardo deserves is a home that makes him feel safe, and teaches him that the world is safe. He’s a gentle soul that deserves gentle people to love him. Eduardo is available via a rescue only and would benefit from the guidance of a good force free only trainer. His ID is #248020 and he’s at Queens ACC. The prescreener is linked in our bio. by @canecorsolyfe

SEEN AND SAVED ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Get @reshare_app • @3eyeblindrescue REGINA IS SAFE WITH US! 🎉

We found out about this sweet girl yesterday and learned she was already past her deadline.

Thanks to Analis, her amazing transporter & foster Josh, we were able to step in and get Regina to safety!

She’ll be decompressing in foster care, and as with all of our shelter pulls, she’ll be headed to the vet this week for a full exam to rule out any underlying URI or kennel cough symptoms and to receive our standard testing and vaccinations.

She does have an interested adopter in Northern California, but we’ll be giving her time to decompress and assessing her with her foster first to make sure it’s the right fit.

Only cozy beds and love from here on out. 💛

Get @reshare_app • @boroughbredinbrooklyn Cookie 🍪 a small brown blocky head is my kryptonite, so my feelings for Cookie may be biased, but they are not unjustified. She is cute by all standards - a little on the short side, with an occasional snaggletooth, and kind eyes. Cookie is “apartment-sized” at 40lbs and she really needs to be back in a home. After 4 1/2 years with one family, she found herself in the shelter and it’s been a hard transition.

The sweetest note about Cookie from her former guardian is about her affection (extreme) and how she enjoys cuddling. They tell us she also loves toys, and this very smart girl is quick to figure out where ours are and point them out to us in a polite and earnest request. So toys she gets, and she runs them into my hands to throw for her again or onto my lap to combine her love of cuddling and playing.

In her former life Cookie lived with a cat she was playful with, and was reported to be friendly with strangers and familiar dogs. She was also reported to be reactive to unfamiliar dogs, which is consistent with behavior observed at the shelter. Being surrounded by barking dogs has proven to be very stressful for Cookie, making her deteriorate quicker. She will need immediate placement soon as she’s scheduled to go at risk for euthanasia if she doesn’t find a home soon.

Cookie needs a home with some experience and she should be an only dog and avoid areas with a lot of dogs like dog parks. Cookie’s ID is #246693 and she’s in adoptions at Queens ACC. by @canecorsolyfe

Get @reshare_app • @iloverescue Argentino 💔

The first dog I saw at the shelter the other day was this sweet boy, and in his kennel, he had a dead bird. He was trying to play with it.

It was a gross sight, but it was also heartbreaking this is what these dogs have while they’re stuck in the shelter. Nothing but boredom and whatever they can find to keep themselves occupied.

Argentino deserves a real home, with people, toys, and love, a place where he doesn’t have to settle for scraps of entertainment or loneliness. He’s waiting for someone to give him the life he truly deserves.

Animal ID: #A838289
Name: My name is Argentino.
Avaliable: 3/2.
Description: I am a white, unaltered male, who looks like a Dogo Argentino.
Age: I am estimated to be 3 years old.
More Info: I am in kennel D 90.
