@coasters.coasters , our beloved returning Indie duo are putting out Alternative Indie-pop tracks with zestful dashes of Psych Rock. Their newest single, ‘not your wife’ is an effortlessly wistful track, that brings all of those melancholic vibes to life in a raw, melodic soundscape.

Visceral team writer @kirabelle444 keenly dives in to this track - breaking down the production and exploring Coasters’ musical evolution.

Erotic and unapologetically queer, the art business Darling Boys, founded by @kevinkat and Tiaan Silly puts forth graphic art prints and apparel that are nothing short of eye-catching, sexy and a little dangerous.

Our Writer, @glamourscam goes into detail about this vibrant art biz, providing insight into the meaning of their art and an in-depth interview with both Kevin Kat and Tiaan La Grange.

COMMONGROUNDS. A night of wicked and wonderful melodies at The Commons carried out by @disappearingsisterruth from 20:00 accompanied by @karriers_sa followed up by @kaiscottmusic alongside The State at 21:00. They will be delivering a range of kaleidoscopic punk mixed with tangled jazzy rock to create a visceral terrain.

The Spooktober celebrations are off to an early start at the Horse this coming FTDS. Expect some eerie Disco grooves from @mattfwb and @shoemaker_cpt along with some apparitions, vampires and perhaps a mummy.

The algorithm has many influencers in a coded chokehold - like a churning machine, pushing for uploads to be as fast and frequent as possible. But what if you could just use an AI clone to take over and do the work for you? Directed by @hanniheinrich , the satire live performance ‘Eileen:Aileen’, brings this electrifying and culturally relevant concept to life!

Our new writer @alexjeannesilberbauer has reviewed ‘Eileen:Aileen’ through the lens of the live audience, and questions if we are losing our ability to interact with flawed, living human beings as AI takes the reigns.

Grief, emptiness, and reconciliation are all viscerally captured on the Baxter Theatre’s stage, in the production ‘Brasse, Tot Laat Toe’. Written by @zubayrcharles and directed by Carlo Daniels; the play follows Luqmaan, a grieving widower, who is met with an unexpected visit by a friend from his past - Junaid.

In this review Shaheena Links vividly recounts her experience watching ‘Brasse, Tot Laat Toe’, and dives deep. She explores the expansive emotional themes and how the inclusion of Cape Townian muslim culture makes for a production that is not only picturesque on stage, but home-hitting too.
