I'm very happy with the result of this collaborative art work. Its' acrylic, sand and oil on a 1m x 1m canvas. The first layers where made as part of an experiential workshop that I facilitated. It took place on the banks of the Waal river, Nijmegen, Netherlands in the summer. The participants from different backgrounds connected and expressed themselves non-verbally. They meditated on the elements of nature, danced and poured paint. Once the workshop was over and the painting dried I expanded on it in my studio. I love how this way of working involves a group in springboarding the building blocks of a work. It sets the work off with a powerful energy. I am then challenged to take this life force further. To find an interpretation. To honour the moment. To see where it goes….what title shall we give it?

Billboard 100’s Top Now That’s What We Call Music 2000’s party is back by popular demand for ‘Oops We Did It Again (Again)’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Because the 2000’s are classics now. It’s scary but hey, it feels good to dance the night away to Beyoncé, The Black Eyed Peas, Britney and more of your favorites from the golden tunes of Y2K.

Bring your apple bottom jeans with the boots with da fur and get krunking - for shiz 💅

Early birds are live and those worms don’t last for ever! Maybe even get a cheeky season pass for the intrepid Down South fan 😉

KISSES

JOZI, I’M COMING WITH THAT ZAZA. 😮‍💨🔥

The @backabuddy campaign has been moving, the love has been LOUD, and now, we’re taking this energy to Joburg this weekend. 🫶🏾

Here’s a little ZAZA from the @tradebarandsocial gig with @the_crossroads021 — a song about feeling cool, like your best self, when you’re in your ELEMENT! That feeling when everything you touch just feels like greatness. 😎🥹

And honestly? That’s exactly how I’m feeling heading into this weekend.

We’ve got a festival to hit. A stage to step on. Some ZAZA to hit. 😌

See you on the other side, Jozi 🫡

Live. Intimate. Soft. But also a bit rowdy.

Common Grounds brings live music back to the The Commons with a scintillating line up of local talent. @disappearingsisterruth will be supported by @karriers_sa as “Disappearing Sister Ruth Band” blending their distinctive psychedelic post punk sound with her soft folky melodies and original lyrics. Following up with @kaiscottmusic accompanied by The State bringing a mix of folk, rock and jazz with striking melodies at The Commons.
