At the Great Cornish Sardine Festival, Gyotaku Fish Printing with See Moor!

Stevie McCrindle from Sea Moor will be at this year’s Newlyn Sardine Festival running a hands-on Gyotaku fish-printing session.

Instead of just watching, visitors will get to be the artists. Festival-goers can pick out a Cornish sardine and create a unique print to take away with them. Importantly, nothing goes to waste; once the printing is finished, the sardines can be washed and sent straight to the BBQ to be cooked and eaten on the day, or bagged up to take home for later.

It is a practical, interactive way to get involved with Newlyn's fishing heritage, offering people a chance to see, handle, print, and taste the catch that the festival celebrates. Anyone interested can track down the See Moor stand to choose a sardine and give it a go. by @capnh
