Secret Wars #8 just came back from CGC as a 9.8 Yellow Label, signed by Tom DeFalco and featuring an amazing John Beatty remarque and signature — all done at HeroesCon. Seeing that 9.8 on the label still feels unreal. This cover hits different.But the grade isn’t even the best part.This is the book that introduced me to Edward — @sasquatchcomicbooksThis exact copy was on the table at @hillsofcomics during the Front Row Card Show @frontrowcardshow. Edward was actually looking at it when we started chatting. He could’ve easily taken it himself… but instead, he graciously told me to go for it since he had another copy. That made this my first ever Secret Wars #8 — and that moment stuck. We’ve been bonded over this book ever since. 🙌🏾🙌🏾👏🏾Fun Fact:In today’s market, a CGC 9.8 Signature Series Secret Wars #8 is widely regarded as a high value book, and copies with remarques from key creators like John Beatty are in a category of their own. ⚡️🖤 Avengers Annual #10 | A Journey Book Done Right | #holidaykeyissue with @the.comic.syndicateThis one still doesn’t feel real. Avengers Annual 10 has officially come back as a CGC 9.8 Signature Series, and knowing where this book started makes it even sweeterI originally picked this up as a CBCS 9.2 for $80. It already looked far better than a typical 9.2 in my opinion, but I knew there was more in it. I sent it off to @magicpressing ahead of HeroesCon, trusting them to work their wonders — and they absolutely did.At HeroesCon, the book became something else entirely. I had it signed by Chris Claremont, Joe Rubinstein, and Michael Golden, and then came the moment that really set it apart: Al Milgrom not only signed it, but added that incredible Black Cat remarque in the bottom left corner. Watching that sketch come together was one of those “this is why I collect” moments.Then off to CGC… hoping, but not expecting.And somehow — 9.8.Fun Fact:In this grade, with this exact signature combination, there are only 2 copies in the CGC census — and with the added Milgrom Black Cat remarque, I’m pretty confident this one stands alone as a true 1 of 1. This cover hits different.Collector’s Note:Between the beautiful colors, crisp lines, historic first appearances, creator legends involved, and the journey from a humble 9.2 to a top-tier 9.8, this book is everything I love about collecting. 🦇🎨 Absolute Batman Noir Edition issue 1 — 15 Creator Sketch Cover#ShowcaseSunday with @the.comic.syndicateThis one is, without question, one of the highlights of my collection.At Emerald City Comic Con 2026, I set myself a challenge: turn the Absolute Batman Noir Edition 1 Sketch Edition into a true one-of-a-kind piece. Over three incredible days I carried this book around the convention, meeting creators, collecting signatures, and watching sketch after sketch bring the blank cover to life.The result? A CGC 9.8 Signature Series copy featuring work from 15 legendary creators, including David Finch, John Timms, Brian Stelfreeze, Arthur Adams, Chris Claremont, Jeph Loeb, Denys Cowan, Ryan Benjamin, Adriano Di Benedetto, Creees Hyunsung Lee, Maria Wolf, Alex Sinclair, Scott Hanna, Jason Aaron and Javier Fernández, who also added a sketch and signature to the cover.What makes this book so special to me isn't just the names on the label. It's the memories behind every one of them. Every signature came with a conversation, every sketch was different, and watching the cover evolve throughout the convention was an experience I'll never forget. By the end of the weekend it had become more than a comic. It had become a scrapbook of one amazing convention.Having it come back from CGC as a 9.8 Signature Series was the perfect ending. It's already one of my favourite books, but knowing there's almost certainly nothing else quite like it makes it even more meaningful.Collector note:Some books are valuable because they're rare. 🤖🖋️ If Destruction Be Our Lot issue 1 — Original Art by Andy MacDonald#ShowcaseSunday with @the.comic.syndicate I'm showing off something I'm genuinely thrilled to own... two original art pages from If Destruction Be Our Lot issue 1 by Andy MacDonald.Not only are the pages incredible, but Andy was kind enough to include a signed preview ashcan and a signed poster with the artwork, which was such a thoughtful touch.The pages themselves are exactly why I wanted them. They capture Abe's first steps into the outside world, that sense of discovery as he leaves everything he's known behind. Then, on the following page, comes his first encounter with... well... no spoilers! 😄I've absolutely loved how this series has started. It's a wonderfully strange mix of post-human sci-fi, mystery, and heart, and it's already become one of those books that goes straight to the top of my reading pile. The world Matthew Rosenberg, Mark Rosenberg, and Andy MacDonald have created feels fresh, imaginative, and full of possibilities.Owning original pages from a series this early in its run makes them feel even more special. I can't wait to see where the story goes... and I love knowing these pages will always be part of my collection.Collector note:Original art tells the story in a completely different way. 🌊🖤 Hello Darkness issue 22 — Jenny Frison Variant#SinisterSaturday with @the.comic.syndicateFor SinisterSaturday I’m going with the Jenny Frison variant for Hello Darkness issue 22.At this point I don't think it's any secret how much I enjoy this series. Every issue has delivered a great mix of unsettling, macabre stories, and it's become one of the books I look forward to the most each month.And then there's the cover. Jenny Frison has this incredible ability to create images that are beautiful at first glance, but the longer you look, the more unsettling they become. This cover is another perfect example. Elegant, haunting, and packed with atmosphere without needing to rely on over-the-top horror.The anthology format continues to be one of the series' biggest strengths too. Every issue brings something different, from psychological horror to supernatural terror, which keeps each read feeling fresh while still capturing that classic EC-style spirit.Collector note:Between the consistently strong stories and Jenny Frison's incredible variants, this has become one of my favourite modern horror titles to collect.#HorrorComics #JennyFrison #ComicCommunity #ComicCollectors by @capsandcapes

🌍⚡ Ultimate Universe Finale issue 1 — Peach Momoko Variant#WishlistWednesday with @the.comic.syndicateFor WishlistWednesday I’m going with Ultimate Universe Finale 1 and the stunning Peach Momoko variant.As soon as I saw this cover I knew it was the one I wanted. Peach Momoko has such a unique style, and it fits the Ultimate Universe perfectly. Beautiful, atmospheric, and instantly recognizable.I've absolutely loved what Marvel has done with this new Ultimate line. I read right through Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Spider-Man, and the world they've built has been fantastic. Rather than simply retelling old stories, they've created something that feels genuinely fresh while still capturing what makes these characters so compelling.Now it all starts to come together. Ultimate Universe Finale #1 begins the climactic event as the Maker's carefully constructed world starts to unravel, bringing the major Ultimate heroes onto a collision course that will decide the future of the universe they've fought to reclaim. The stakes couldn't really be much higher.I'm really looking forward to diving into this one and seeing how it all plays out.Collector note:A Peach Momoko cover on one of Marvel's biggest books of the year?
