Had a hell of a couple days with the boys. The Montana crew came down to show these redfish they can catch more than trout, and my guy Case put his first redfish on the board. Good times, bent rods, and memories made.

There comes a point every winter when the water turns clear and we start pushing the skiff into creeks that look more like little drains than places you’d expect to find redfish.

Then you round a corner and there they are.

20, 50, sometimes 100 fish packed into a creek barely wider than the boat. Backs breaking the surface. Eyes out of the water. Fish crawling across sandy bottom with hardly enough water to cover them.

You can watch the whole school move, stop, turn and push down the creek in front of you.

It’s hard to beat winter in the backcountry.

The boys from North GA came down to see what these flood tides were all about.

Carter had his eyes set on his first redfish on fly, and after putting in the work, he sealed the deal.

I was fired up to be apart of it when it finally happened. Those are the fish you remember.
