POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Aloha everyone, its been a week since the devastating flood here on the north shore. Still trying to wrap my head around all the precious and cherished items that were lost. I saw my truck, that was the nicest thing i've ever owned, off on a flatbed today from waikiki where i evacuated to. So glad it started and got me out. Thank you all for the donations thus far from all across the country. I feel so loved . The affected area has a very long road to recovery ahead of us, but the community has really shown up with the Aloha spirit to clean, clear, move mud, and start the recovery process. I love you all near and far and thank you for being amazing! My gofundme link is in the bio . by @captadam23_

Thank you so much to everyone for reaching out and for the donations, help and love. Long long road ahead . We are on day 5 and saw the red cross for the first time today, one of the ladies said ... the national guard has been helping you guys yeah? Noooope. I let them know that friends, community members and coworkers is all we've seen yet. This is unreal. At a loss for words or ideas. One moment at a time, but wanted to take a second to thank everyone for everything thus far. by @captadam23_

If you’ve been following my stories the last few days you’ve seen the absolute devastation that our beloved north shore is going through including my boyfriends house and shed (essentially Kimmy Kai Headquarters) where I have all of my work tools, supplies, market stuff, tables, tent, etc etc.

Adam’s whole house is completely ruined, the flood waters came knee deep into his house in the middle of the night peaking between 3-5am while he was asleep, with no warning sirens, & the shed outside was completely flipped on its side submerging everything inside in the muddy rushing waters.

When he woke up at 8am the entire house was completely covered in a thick layer of red mud that destroyed every single inch of the house and all of his possessions. The flood waters had come all the way up to the seats inside of his Tacoma, waking up to MANDATORY EVACUATION notices on his phone, he had to pray his truck would even start, then hope it would even be able to make it through the flood waters to evacuate.

Armed with only his passport, & our neighbors outdoor cat (who was on his lanai screaming meows and completely drenched in mud), his truck miraculously started, made it through 3ft+ of flood water, and somehow it managed to make it to my place in town before it died & started short circuiting.

We returned the next day to complete devastation. His whole house and life, and my business world, all in one place.

All we can do now is start to pick up the literal pieces. The 1st day was overwhelming with where to start…

Then day two: the entire north shore community really showed up! That gave us hope that maybe, just maybe, we will be able to do this.

Our north shore community has been nonstop with reaching out with hands, financial support, medical and cleaning supplies, even people bringing me new boots when mine failed!!

If you’re looking for a way to help support us, you can support my business by purchasing jewelry on my website, or I have my personal Venm on my stories.

I’ve also started a go fund me for my boyfriend who lost eveything. Link is in my bio. taken in Waialua, North Shore by @captadam23_

The entire north shore has been devastated. Day 1 felt completely hopeless, day 2 the community has really shown up and it was honestly a sight to behold seeing everyone helping . This is going to be a very long road to recovery. Thank you so much for the comments of love and the venmos today. It really helped the overwhelm of all of this. Anything helps as we try to rebuild and find normal again. Love you all and many mahalos to the community members that spent time with us today. by @captadam23_

Yesterday was one of those days that restores my faith in fishing. We've been busy with charters all summer long, and even well into October. There weren't any fish around and all the charters were half days so we couldn't really go anywhere. Catching a fish of a lifetime in 5 hours is a ton of pressure and it littlerally tears my heart out to get skunked on a charter. I know what it feels like because I did it in kona in 2016. Captain showed up late, drunk , had trouble starting the boat...
We saw nearly every charter boat in the fleet hooked up to Marlin all around us. I saw the biggest fish id ever seen at the time closer to our boat than the one that was hooked up to it. The mate was a chick who was also super hungover and late... drove me insane and I felt so robbed of my money. So I can completely relate to how my charter guests feel when we dont catch and I never want anyone to feel that way aboard a vessel with me on it. Anyways, I digress...

The charters have stopped, and now the fish have shown up. Funny how fishing works like that in this business. Yesterday, knowing whats been going on because ive been fishing daily for months, I made the call for a commercial day. We caught 9 mahi mahi, two aku, and missed our miracle Marlin on the way home. Today I cut and delivered our mahi to two local restaurants and everybody wins. This is why I do this. Its all about the community, sharing with charter guests some of the amazing shit that goes on out there, and putting smiles on people's faces. I feel like ive finally paid my dues, learned and trained with the best, and am becoming my own captain. For this reason, im having this beautiful bull mahi from yesterday mounted on my wall by Grey taxidermy in Florida. I will have a memory and never forget the way im feeling right now. Many mahalos to all of you that have taught me along the way. You know who you are. I cant thank you enough. You guys are true hammers out there and thank you for molding me into the fisherman I am becoming. I am eternally grateful to you guys.

Much love and Aloha from haleiwa, hi.
Dream big, follow your dreams, and the money will follow.

Highest regards,

I have been playing golf since I was about 10 years old, grew up caddying and was on the golf team all four years in high school. About 15 years ago I decided I would never cheat in any way and wanted to figure out what I actually shoot. Legit golf. I have been on a mission that whole time to break 80 and have come close countless times and blown it at the end. Today was the day. 78 at mililani country club. 13 pars, 4 bogeys and one double. Not mega exciting, just solid golf. So stoked to finally accomplish this goal. Yewwwww!!! by @captadam23_

This was a wild one, 25 minute fight. Pulled hook I mean eye about 50 feet behind the boat. Unfortunate Blue Marlin for getting foul hooked. As always @naioceanlures 12” malolo getting it done! taken in Bob Marlin Charters by @captadam23_
