No Horizon hits the shelves this week in selected bookshops around Australia!

I love independent bookshops. They create community around reading, curate style, make adventurous recommendations and are usually just lovely people!

I highly recommend buying No Horizon from a local bookshop, or asking them to order it in for you!

In Melbourne/Naarm you can get a copy from
@bbound in Brunswick
@marketboooks in Preston
@hareshyenas in Saint Kilda

In Sydney you will find No Horizon at
@betterreadbookshop in Newtown

In Brisbane, at @avidreader

And in Port Fairy at @blarneybooksandart

Plus more to come!

Alternatively you can now buy a copy from my website and it will be printed and directly shipped to you worldwide!

Or come and get one from me in person this Sunday and let’s celebrate at the book launch!

Happy reading! by @captainruin

2025 was a hell of a year! And I spent a lot of it in clown face 🤡

Performing Clown feels magickal and ritualistic, inviting us to consider - what it would be like if we lived in a world where everyone could be their full selves without inhibition?

Alongside my performances, in 2025 I also took some really big personal steps to help build the type of community that could make a different world possible - teaching workshops, running free masterclasses, hosting underground parties, giving a uni lecture series and creating platforms for other people’s skills.

I’m grateful that I can do this work, and excited for the new year. In 2026 i plan to write and publish more on my Substack so that i can develop some of these ideas at length, and off Meta-owned platforms like this one.

Find me there, or even better, come see me in person at a gig coming up near you!

Wishing everyone good fortune for 2026, stay safe, staunch and strong willed ❤️‍🔥

From a backstage conversation at @goodthingsfestival about the need for more alternative entertainment in regional areas, to a 10 city national tour in less than a year - the first edition of Cirque Le Strange by Oozing Future has been nothing less than thrilling!

Every night we heard similar praise from buzzing audiences in country towns - ‘thank you so much for coming, we never get this kind of thing here!’

Truly, there are freaks and queers, punks and weirdos everywhere - and we can celebrate and empower those marginalized communities when we think outside the box to get our work out there - In this case, by playing regional pubs!

A massive thank you to Ian Smith @killyourpopstars666 and his team at Aus Venues Co for this opportunity to reach places and people that we wouldn’t normally be able to tour to. Thanks also to Stuart and the team at @oztix and GTF for their promotion and support.

Taking a full length circus show with aerials, clowning, contortion, burlesque and freakshow, plus an incredible custom set on a rock'n'roll style tour in a 12 seat van is only possible when you have a team of great people.

An enormous thank you to @strawberrysiren - OF company and production manager extraordinaire who made the logistics seem easy with her incredible planning and execution. To our local cast, @winter_greene @themb0t_ and @soliana_er - you are all so amazing! Thanks for your trust, talent and hard work. Also a huge thanks to @elle_diablo_ and @jesslove_it who were perfect guest stars when we needed show covers!

And to my incredible friend @thelizardman23 it is an honour to collaborate with you and celebrate the power and philosophy of being different!

We can't forget our extremely talented friends either! We had Set and Costume pieces made by @aloldfieldmaker and @thehouseofarax
@drhubblesbubbles gave outside eye feedback @akjfurness whipped our QLab into shape, and @lordmedia and @whatisundergroundmedia made us look great!

Finally, we are grateful to everybody who turned up and bought a ticket to this unique piece of live entertainment. It only works when we Do It Together!

Cirque Le Strange will return in 2027 -until then - stay tooned! by @captainruin

Archive Flashback: @captainruin in the training week Cabaret at The National Circus Festival, Golconda Lutruwita 2009.
That was one of my all time favourite stages, performers trying out stuff in front of the most supportive (and nerve wracking) audiences.
Thank you for sharing that special place and those times with us @tonylerocket ❤️
