Winter wilderness classic! I was super pumped to get back to the Brooks range to ski in the Arctic. The north side gave us true Arctic temps and icy, wind scoured valleys. A highlight for me was skiing up the Itkilik on the first morning at -30 by myself following wolf tracks. This is why we do it. #wildernessclassic #gatesofthearctic by @captainswallowtail

For several years, the second half of the roughly 100-mile route leading to Denali National Park has been inaccessible to buses and vehicles due to a slowly moving landslide at Polychrome Pass. Cyclists can only navigate this area via a 5-mile detour across gravel bars and glacial streams - which only makes the adventure even sweeter! by @captainswallowtail

4 days bike touring the Denali Park road. Finally got out there as the second half is closed to traffic and I can’t wait to go back. The detour is 5 miles of mostly rideable gravel bars and water crossings. Hellbiking lite? So fun to do this as a family trip. #bikepacking taken in Denali National Park and Preserve by @captainswallowtail
