FROM THE ARCHIVES! Our founder Eric, a bit damp, 25 years ago on the 1,000 km Carretera Austral in Chile. Frame bag #001 and a bunch of stuff strapped to the back. Aside from the 3x8 drivetrain this setup is not much different than what’s used today.

“I learned a lot on this trip, I had 2 nights where my mid blew away… I was wet most of the time, but I was young and durable so who cares right?”

Classic.

A haphazard glamour shot of a bike that deserves better, but it is actually just a tool that takes me places and I don’t find much time anymore to take pictures of myself or my bike—as we are the fish in the water and I really enjoy swimming.

Almost ten years with this @meriwether.cycles frame and I wouldn’t change a thing, most of all not the color. I wouldn’t make it longer, lower, or slacker—I’m enough of a slacker as it is. The color is Antique Pink, I call it Antique Rose, officially RAL 3014 if you visit your local powdercoater.

Eight years with this prototype @revelatedesigns framebag, with a zipper to prove all other zippers wrong. I used to kill framebag zippers in six months, year after year, until this ultra-low-tech zipper design that keeps the zipper zipping forever and ever. This bag predates every current Revelate framebag in production, and it still zips and rips!

And carbon rims to last a lifetime— these rims have been re-laced 3 or 4 times each, to accommodate changing hub standards, preferential upgrades, and other necessary rebuilds, such as to replace corroded nipples before this trip. Different hubs, new spokes and nipples, countless tires, but the same carbon circles from one whole decade ago. I blame @kvn_boy_wonder for this. I’ve now been saying this for ten years, but “metal bikes, carbon wheels”.
