I didn’t become a photographer because I love pretty pictures.
I became one because I believe in the power of a portrait. I believe the person we are today deserves to be celebrated, seen, captured just as she is. I believe memories deserve weight. Texture. A place to live.

I’m Esther.
I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years.
And a mom for two of the most transformative ones.

Becoming a twin mom changed so much in my work.
It showed me how fast time moves, how many different identities we embody… and how easily we as mothers slip out of the frame of their own lives, how easy it is to forget to celebrate US. It also showed me just how powerful it is to capture the raw strength, love and nurturing force of motherhood in a portrait that preserves the mother you are in this season.

That’s where my work shifted.

Now, what I love most is creating timeless artwork -
photographs you can hold in your hands,
Elegant pieces that live in homes, on walls, and eventually in the hands of the next generation. Captures that are a reminder of being loved, expressed, and ALIVE.

Every person who steps in front of my camera carries a story worth preserving.
Not only about how they looked, but who they were in this season.

So along with motherhood portraits, personal branding photoshoots, and boudoir experiences expect to see more stunning artwork and elegant prints as you follow along this year.

Because photographs aren’t just images.

They’re celebration & history.
They’re Art.

A little dark romance for spooky season. 🖤🥀

Meet Aisha and Ryan, the very first couple to step in front of my camera for Volume 3 of the Empowered Mama Portrait Experience!

Expecting their first, these two brought ALL the drama, romance, and magic to their maternity session.

When Aisha told me she was bringing black crowns adorned with red jewels for BOTH of them, my creative brain was immediately set on FIRE. 🔥 I started dreaming up this dark, romantic world inspired by her gorgeous goth aesthetic, and this set was the result!

An absolute DREAM for an October maternity shoot.

One of my favorite things about creating these experiences is taking the little pieces of inspiration my clients bring me and turning them into something that feels completely and unapologetically them.

Because maternity portraits don’t have to look any one way. They can be soft and ethereal, bold and dramatic, romantic and a little mysterious.

Motherhood doesn’t erase the woman you are. And what better way to celebrate this new chapter than by honoring every part of her?

And here’s the best part: this was just ONE of the epic sets we created together. I can’t wait to share the rest!

“You help us sit and feast upon ourselves and receive the love we have misplaced or kept hidden along the way.”

A dear friend and Volume 1 Empowered Mama sent me that text this week. It’s perhaps the truest description of this work anyone has given me.

42 mother, each with their portrait in the exhibit as a work of art…. This night and this experience with the mothers of volume 2 is still echoing, rippling, and creating more compassion, kindness and celebration for ourselves.

And Volume 3 is officially open. Next year’s wall is being built now and there’s a spot waiting for you.

This is a year of creation in 30 seconds.

Forty-two mothers said yes to being seen this year. Many hadn’t been photographed in years. Every one of them walked into that room and found herself on the wall.

Thank you to the women who trusted me with their stories, and to every partner who helped build this night. This night would not have been the same without each of your meaningful contributions.

More than a photoshoot. It was a celebration of 20 years in the beauty industry, but also of me as a mom.

Motherhood has been my greatest joy, my biggest challenge, and the reason I’ve found strength I never knew I had.

What does it look like when mothers allow themselves to be seen?

Not only as the ones who nurture, carry, provide, sacrifice, and hold everything together.

But as women.

Powerful. Soft. Resilient. Sensual. Becoming.
Women with stories worth telling and lives worth documenting.

On October 2nd, the Empowered Mama Exhibit returns for Volume II, bringing together the portraits and stories of 41 incredible mothers who stepped in front of my camera this year.

Each woman came with her own story. Her own season of motherhood. Her own reason for saying yes to being photographed.

And together, their portraits have become something bigger.

A celebration of motherhood, womanhood, identity, strength, and the legacy we leave behind.

I cannot wait to finally share this body of work with you.
