It’s been a year since I introduced myself, so here’s the face behind the camera.

I’m Gavin, a master’s student in philosophy from Indonesia. Welcome to Capturing Yale. I started this account thanks to the encouragement of my friends, and shortly after, I was discovered by @yalealumni’s amazing staff who made my side project my side hustle. Now, I get to celebrate milestones and God’s handiwork in the world and in the people around me.

If you spot me, feel free to say hi. I love meeting new people—many of whom I’ve met through CaptYale. And don’t hesitate to ask for a picture. I always carry my @sonyalpha with me 📸

Welcome to all the new taps! Collegiate a cappella began on campus, & it wasn’t long before I found that we’ve become the university with the largest (traditional) singing culture 🎙️

Here’s the @whiffenpoofs ’26!

CaptYale’s next project is a year-long series collaboration with the Yale Music Library, alumni historians, & singing/music groups on campus. Stay tuned 🎼 taken in Yale University by @capturingyale
