Another look at the classic hot matcha latte, NOBLE ATHOS ☕️

➤ 2 gr matcha + 2 oz water at 175°F
➤ 14 oz frothed whole milk at 150°F
➤ sifted matcha drizzle

Still haven’t changed the recipe since 5 years ago. It’s that amazing! Especially with a frothy & crispy top layer of milk 👌

Welcome to Matchateers! 🍵

5 years ago, I began studying the vast world of matcha and opened a dorm café in SoCal. I was formally trained under Nakada-sensei of @urasenkela for a year until I started attending Yale in Fall 2023.

This page isn’t here to upscale my archives or hop on a trend. It’s a space to retrace the journey and honor the tradition 🌿

Little snippets from my dorm café. 2025 marked my 5th year serving matcha traditionally, with 4-5 tea ceremonies per week last semester 🍵 (This was made possible by dropping my language class lol)

Grateful to have grown closer to so many friends & also making new friends from all corners of campus—all while sharing the vast, deep, & rich world of chado :)

I rarely post about my year-long journey in @urasenkela, an incredibly rich “chado” education, but I’m hoping to share more from time to time :)

The Urasenke tradition is the most prominent school in the Japanese Way of Tea. I first met Keiko Nakada-sensei (executive director of @shoseian.teahouse) as guests in a matcha documentary, where she kindly invited me to become one of her students. She’s the brightest and sweetest tea instructor I’ve ever met, so I’m forever grateful.

All photos were captured in Nakada-sensei’s tea room! 🍵
