Best.Day.Ever.⚾️

We had the most incredible day filled with history, connection, and fun as we explored Boston with Red Sox pitcher Payton Tolle and his beautiful wife, Devin!

From the Freedom Trail to an unforgettable ride on Codzilla and a pizza party at The Landing to wrap up the day, every moment was filled with laughter, adventure, and memories to last a lifetime.

We’re forever grateful to Payton, Devin, Boston Harbor City Cruises, Freedom Trail, Cadence158, and the Boston Red Sox for making this extraordinary day possible and reminding kids + young adults that they are never alone in their grief❤️

The 1st annual Tigger Tournament with Payton Tolle was something so extraordinary. It was so much more than a night of golf. And Payton Tolle is so much more than one of our fav Red Sox players.

Together, Payton and I honored our beautiful, brave Moms Jina + Kit. The Tigger Tournament reminds everyone to “be a tigger, not an eeyore” and is just one more way Payton’s honors Jina’s memory and shows his gratitude for this beautiful life still at our fingertips.

These are the moments that remind me why I started Empower in the first place. Not because I had all the answers, but because I knew that no young person should ever have to feel alone in their grief.

When I started Empower 10+ years ago, I had no idea where this journey would take me or how many extraordinary people would become a part of it.

I am forever grateful to Payton and his wife Devin, John & Linda Henry, Trevor Story and the entire Red Sox organization for their love + support. Thanks to the families and Mentors who made it unforgettable.

My dad raised me on two things: sports analogies and the Boston Red Sox⚾

He had a sports metaphor for everything, and it turns out most of them were right. My dad, who affectionately referred to himself as “Big Papi” the minute he became a grandfather, raised me as a Red Sox fan and taught me life through sports analogies: it’s not over till the fat lady sings, keep your eye on the ball, and my fav, there is no “I” in team. I lean on those lessons every day.

He’d have loved meeting @rolletolle49. Partly because he pitches for his team, and partly because he’s wearing his satche. He’d have wanted a side-by-side photo, and then he’d have told Payton he had it first. And, he’d be proud that Payton, who lost his mom Jina just a few years ago, is now an ambassador for Empower, showing kids that they’re not alone.
Big Papi raised me on baseball cards and bobblehead dolls and taught me that the people in your dugout matter most. Payton, thank you for being in ours. Good luck to the @redsox tonight. Somewhere, a man with a great mustache is cheering for you ❤️ @weareempower_ #RedSox #ChildhoodGrief #Dad #GoSox

There are certain moments that bring me right back to why Empower began. 💛

Getting to know Payton has been one of those moments. We connected through a shared understanding of loss, but what has meant even more to me is everything that connection has grown into.

I’ve loved getting to know Payton and his amazing wife, Devin, and seeing the genuine kindness and heart they bring to the Empower community. Moments like these are such a reminder of why I started Empower in the first place—to create a space where people can find connection, feel understood, and know they don’t have to walk through grief alone.

Payton and Devin, thank you for embracing Empower and for showing up with so much love and generosity. I’m incredibly grateful our paths crossed and even more grateful to have you both as part of the Empower family. 💛
