today is my mom’s angel day 🤍 no matter how many years pass, there’s not a day that goes by that i don’t think of her—and how i can honor her legacy through the way i live, love, and show up for others.

i’ve been volunteering with Empower since 2019, and being part of a community that understands life after losing a parent means so much to me. since opening Petaloúda, with community as one of our core values, it’s been so special to bring my team into this work, too.

from the Mother’s Day retreats to hosting events at the salon—including one this fall that i’m so excited about—to sponsoring the college care package initiative for the second year, these are connections and traditions i hope we’ll continue for years to come.

a special thank you to Amanda, Barbara, and Will for helping assemble this year’s packages with so much love. i can’t wait for everyone to receive them, and i hope they bring a little smile and a reminder that you have a community cheering you on.

i honor her legacy every day, and while nothing makes her loss any less, having a community like this and being able to give back brings so much meaning to the way i carry her memory. i can’t change losing her, but i can keep sharing the love she gave me. to honor Pam‘s legacy today do a random act of kindness 🫶💜

with love and gratitude,

We are deeply grateful to Senator O’Connor for his support of Empower and his belief in our mission to help children, teens, and families navigate grief.
During Senate session on May 21, Senator O’Connor proposed funding to support Empower’s programs and shared words that beautifully capture the heart of our work:
“Thank you for transforming loss into connection, and grief into community.”
We are honored by his recognition and thankful for his advocacy on behalf of grieving families. Together, we can continue creating spaces where young people feel supported, understood, and connected as they navigate life’s most difficult losses.
Thank you, Senator O’Connor, for standing with Empower and the families we serve. ❤️
