Made a little zippy bag for my bestie’s birthday this weekend. She’s a big fan of cats and plants so of course I had to choose this fabric combo! So so happy with how it turned out. Made this pattern several times and every time I make it, it’s always a hit! #springrollpouch pattern by @loveyousew_ by @carbonchic

Oh dear god this video took me forever to edit. And then I deleted it and had to redo it because I forgot to turn the background audio off. 😂 Damn near took less time to sew the bloody skirt! Self-drafted this.. stirrup skirt (?) and so in love that I think I’ll make one in every colour. Denim from @spotlightstores by @carbonchic

Happy Valentine’s Day, folks! ♥️💐 So excited to be back in the sewing room again. This dress doesn’t scream “V Day”, but it is still a special make and I feel like a fairy princess while wearing it. Everything is painstakingly pattern matched and I learned my lesson since the last button placket—this one is now fake and that’s the way it’ll be going forward with this pattern. Making a winter pinafore dress to wear over my long-sleeved tops out of this clearance wool blend houndstooth from @spotlightstores! Let me tell you about these bloody pockets. Did you know there exists not one single tutorial on the internet on how do to a welt pocket on a seam? (Waiting for the internet to prove me wrong for making a declarative statement). There’s millions on regular welt pockets but not these kind. There’s a couple I found that had pockets under the seam but never above and boy let me tell you these were an adventure. I worked these out by myself and I’m SO proud of how they turned out. Not a topstitch in sight! They look amazing and were exactly what I envisaged for this dress. I now can’t wait to get my zippers in so I can finish it and wear it! by @carbonchic

Oh right, I forgot but for those of you who don’t know, I went to @supanovaexpo with @heroinebycosplay and made my very own Daphne dress and scarf! Also I made Alex’s shaggy bell bottom pants and that was an adventure and a half because the pattern was definitely not beginner-friendly! The dress is a modified #newlook6428 , with longer sleeves and I added bands in a super complicated manner that I don’t recommend. Alex’s pants are #threadtheoryjedediahpants with a flare added in. I’m going to be cropping them to shorts so he can still wear them in the summer. My least favourite thing about cosplay (and why I don’t do it very often) is how eco-unfriendly it is, and I’m hoping to get as much casual wear out of my Daphne dress as I can! I think it makes a pretty cute Winter dress. by @carbonchic

So this is how I do it (lol). The China leather shoe patcher #clsp in action. The stand is a bit rickety but when it only costs $130 and sews through 4 layers of leather and interfacing like it’s tissue paper, I can’t complain! by @carbonchic

I love this dress in action! Sewing a sailor collar into seams down the front is genius in my opinion. No need for ties or turning out acute angles. I added a pleated skirt to tie in to the boxy print of the dress and I think I killed my pattern placement! Everything was so judiciously positioned. I didn’t want too much red, I didn’t want the skirt hem to cut through a panel, and the only thing I could say I would do better next time is to raise the print on the middle bodice panel. Happy #memademay 😍 Look at this amazing #starwars dress I made over the last two days for #maythe4thbewithyou ! I’m unfortunately late to the punch but I’m so incredibly thrilled with how this turned out. I used my trusty sailor dress pattern, added ease back in because I am using curtain fabric here with no spandex in sight and added a lapped zipper to the back. It was a huge challenge but I think I did a good job for the #anzcreativeshowcase yesterday and I had lots of love on stream during the making of it! ❤️❤️ by @carbonchic
