Huge congratulations to @lincolncollegeoxford on achieving a Beyond Gold Green Impact Award for the second consecutive year at the 2025–26 University Sustainability Showcase and Celebration. 🌱🏆

We’re delighted to see the College’s continued commitment to sustainability recognised.

Juliet Tye, Sustainability Officer at Lincoln College, said:

“Carbon Literacy has been an important step in the College’s sustainability journey. It has given our staff and students a clearer understanding of climate change, while helping them recognise where they can make a meaningful difference.”

Struggling to attract colleagues to Carbon Literacy training?

A full day of training can feel like a big commitment, especially for people who are only just beginning to engage with the subject.

But what if there were a different way to start the conversation?

The Public Emergency Briefing is a 50-minute film, presented by Chris Packham, bringing together expert voices on climate and nature in a way that is both sobering and inspiring. 🎬

Could a film be a way to get more people engaged with Carbon Literacy?

There’s more to the idea than simply watching a film. 💡

Find out how the Public Emergency Briefing could help open the door to climate action in your community.

This summer’s heatwaves have raised an unavoidable reality: we need to adapt.

Our third #TrainerMonth session will explore how adaptation and resilience can be incorporated into Carbon Literacy courses, while still meeting the Carbon Literacy Standard.

We’ll explore:
💡 Adaptation vs mitigation
💡 The link between adaptation and emissions
💡 Navigating the Carbon Literacy Standard
💡 Creating conversations around adaptation

Hear from trainers putting these ideas into practice, ask questions, share experiences, and take away practical ideas for your own training.

While world leaders talk, we act. Now, let’s talk about what we did. 🌤️

Join us for our brand-new Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) Café. ☕

After four days of Carbon Literacy learning and action around the globe, we’re bringing the community together for a chance to swap stories and hear what CLAD 2026 looked like from different corners of the world.

This is a chance to step beyond the scheduled sessions and talk about what stayed with you. Come ready to share a story, an unexpected learning, an action that gained momentum or a moment that stuck with you.

The CLAD Café is an informal space to share those experiences while they’re still fresh, discover what others have been doing and celebrate the momentum created through four days of collective action.

💥 Let’s round off CLAD 2026 together. Join us on November 12th at 5pm for an hour of community reflection and celebration.

1 MONTH TO GO! 🌎

We’re just 4 weeks away from the sixth annual Carbon Literacy Action Day! 🎉

On November 9th, learners, organisations, and communities worldwide will unite for the largest day of climate education and action, coinciding with COP31. 🤝

While world leaders come together at COP31, we’re turning climate ambition into action, meaning that while leaders talk, we act.

Not holding your breath that leaders will act to secure a safe future for us and future generations? Take matters into your own hands. Gain the knowledge and confidence to act on climate change yourself, and earn a certificate to prove it.

Following Carbon Literacy training at @thepostalmuseum, Eleni Katsiani, Book and Paper Conservator, has committed to explore more sustainable approaches to the use and post-use management of synthetic conservation materials.

“I feel enthusiastic and engaged in contributing to our museum’s sustainability goals. The training being focused on the art and culture industry, helped me to better understand the wider impact of our work individually and collectively, and how climate change impacts the museum sector.

A big challenge in conservation is managing the post use of non-recyclable conservation materials. Many materials are petroleum-based or manufactured from non-woven polymer fibres, used to support, protect, and facilitate the treatment of museum objects. Inspired by the training, my action is about looking into the options of improving the post-use of these resources.”

By raising awareness of the environmental impact of conservation materials, Eleni hopes to encourage more informed and sustainable choices across her team.

Every organisation has its unique reason to take climate action. 📢

For @barnardos_uk , it means considering how climate change intersects with the lives of the young people they support, and how their teams can respond.

Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) 2025 became a valuable opportunity for staff across Barnardo’s teams to explore this. Colleagues took part in Carbon Literacy training delivered by Virescent Learning, building a deeper understanding of climate change in their sector and how to turn their knowledge into action within their teams.

The climate crisis will affect every sector, but not always in the same way. The priorities for a charity supporting young people will look different from those facing a local authority, a business, a university or a healthcare organisation. 🌎

CLAD provides the opportunity for organisations to explore what climate action means in their context, whilst giving colleagues the knowledge to take that conversation further. 👣

Barnardo’s took that step in 2025. What could CLAD 2026 look like for your organisation? 🤔
