What a week! I’m still on high from my book talk last week @majorminorbooksandsuch ! The love, support, hugs, and true friendship were all on full display. Mother’s Day is almost a week away, and for many of us, we dread it. It will bring up the wounds of losing your mother or surrogate and a version of yourself you’re still mourning. THIS IS REAL! You have no obligation to feel what/how others think you should.

My book (ACT II: Disturbing the Edges) was written for exactly this moment. The in-between. The not-quite-healed-but-still-standing. As Juliette Blank reminds us, we don’t speak about “…the transition. The in-between, where you are and where you’re headed. The hallway doesn’t have to be scary, dark, endless confusion. It can be a space of massive transformation, great memories, and peace”.

There are some nuggets in my book that might help you get through the day. Most importantly, know that I see you. You don’t have to pretend you’re fine. Grab a copy, find a quiet corner, and give yourself permission to feel exactly what you feel.

This spoken-word WILL disturb a few edges. For those deeply steeped in tradition, it won’t be easy to LIBERATE yourself but the time is NOW. Here’s a tidbit…. And my book will be released TOMORROW on Amazon ❤️

I AM liberated from the unspoken, cultural requirements of cooking, cleaning, and the chores you didn’t lift a finger to try and help.

I AM liberated from the constant verbal abuse that cuts deeper than the ocean; it’s more irritable than the pricks of a cactus tree.

I AM liberated from the mishandling of your touch.

I AM liberated from the tone of your voice speaking to me as a child.

I AM liberated from taking care of you FIRST without thinking of my well-being….

I AM liberated from allowing you to take my joy and peace.

I AM liberated from the belief that being childless doesn’t mean I’m not good enough. Meanwhile, have you checked……
