They told me that with time things will get easier, they lied……

I’m sitting in this airport in Ethiopia, crying like I was a one year old. It gets worse every day. I think about you all day, every day. Thinking about what I could’ve done different. Had I done this or that, would you still be here getting on my nerves. You were there for me through the highs and lows, you was there when I went into the military, bought my first house, my first car, the last one I was giving to you. You was also there when I got arrested for driving your car on bad tags lol. I can go on and on, but just know I miss you ALOT, I hope I’ve made you proud, and that I’m living every moment for you. Today I celebrate my personal holiday, your birthday. I celebrating how you’d want. I’m taking the trip I would’ve taken you on. I woke up on a beach, like would’ve loved. I spread your ashes in the water like you would’ve wanted. Now I’m off to the next place. I’m glad you came out to hear me try to talk this morning. We’ll talk soon. Happy Birthday….I Love You….. 👸🏽🕊 #happybirthday taken in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia by @carfaxplease

I remember this moment so clearly.

Standing on that edge… terrified.
I have a real fear of heights—
which is ironic, considering my life.

I was shaking, overthinking, ready to back away.

And then my friend carfaxplease said,
“Relax. You’re okay. Just breathe.”

And I did.

I trusted him.
Then I trusted myself.

And I stepped into the moment anyway.

It’s amazing what happens in life
when you have people who steady you
until you learn how to stand on your own.

Some people come to lift you.
Some come to reveal what no longer aligns.

Either way…
every moment is shaping you.

Life lesson at 43 #8:
Trust yourself… even on the edge.

At 43, I understand that now. 💗 taken in Santorini, Greece by @carfaxplease
