the past few weeks in the foothills have been full of wildlife sightings — from twin fawns, to foxes and all kinds of fuzzy friends. this morning, I saw a mama deer run off a fox at full speed, likely to protect the well-lit duo in the first picture. by @carlydefilippo

a few belated selects from a well-timed escape to Arizona. our first out-of-state, 2-on-2 family trip without extra adults to facilitate some semblance of sanity. our takeaways: (1) Scottsdale and its surroundings are incredible for hiking when it’s not sizzling out, despite the golf / pool-centric reputation and (2) if our kids are well behaved during outdoor adventures, I guess we can’t complain that they won’t sit still at restaurants 🤪 by @carlydefilippo

Happiest 1st birthday to this sweet little nugget. As many of you know, Nick and I were on the “one and done” train for many many moons, until one day we just…weren’t. Good thing too, because it turned out I was already pregnant 😂 Curveballs aside, having a second chance to really savor the baby phase has been redeeming in so many ways, and I can’t wait to watch our girls grow up together. For now, just getting in as many snuggles as we can before she transforms into a proper toddler! by @carlydefilippo

from overpacking for every possible season, to dodging thunderstorms (with two kiddos in tow)…the mountains always find some way to humble you. and then the clouds part — or the first snows fall 😍— and you find yourself in utter awe, all over again. @visittelluride by @carlydefilippo

a surprise date night @majortomdenver did not disappoint. from the curated wine list, to the (root veg pickling liquid) granita-topped oysters and perhaps the best cabbage I’ve ever eaten (miso + crunchy bits = heaven), every bite was truly a 10/10. The only thing that could—and did—make it better were primo bar seats where we could chat with the awesome staff. by @carlydefilippo

Poppy Sofia Carchedi made her debut this week 💜 Named after Nick’s grandfather “Poppy,” we also love that her name references the bright red flower, commonly spotted in the intentionally untamed gardening style that is so unique to Denver. Sofia is also a nod to my grandmother, Sophie, who was a bit of a firecracker herself. by @carlydefilippo
