I'm a gatherer. I gather thoughts. I gather knowledge and wisdom. I gather people. I gather light and love. And I share what I gather.

POSTS STORIES REELS

#17 My Art: I've been sharing blessings and visual art here for a while now.

But I've realized that some of the most meaningful art I do isn't visual at all.

It's the work of connecting ideas, finding meaning, and putting words to things that help us see our lives a little differently.

I'm going to start sharing some of that art here, too.

I'll call these posts **c.o.n.n.e.c.t.i.o.n.s.**

The dots make me think of dot-to-dot puzzles—connecting the dots to reveal a picture that wasn't visible before.

Blessing #17: Unfinished Projects. Sometimes I have anxious feelings when a project seems to take a long time to get done.

I started putting ideas on paper years ago. Early this year, those idea began to form into a book. I was surprised to be starting another book. I wasn't going to do that again, but there it was. A new project.

That led to the sure knowledge that I needed to finish the 2nd Editions of Holding Space Practice and its Companion Journal.

That led to the non-negotiable need for a companion webpage for both books.

Then one morning in May I was awakened by the Holy Spirit that gave me direction for other projects including creating a Retreat in Park City Utah the last week of May 2027.

None of those projects are finished. None. They are all works in progress.

This morning, I realized I, too, am an unfinished project. Life is a string of projects in progress.

Isn't that fabulous?

Believe you me, I'll let you know when any of these projects are done.

#16 Art: Art is not always something to hang on your wall. For years I have covered boxes with saying where I store things on my shelves.

These sayings get embedded in the minds of the people who see them day in and day out.

This was my latest one. It is in my kitchen by the back door.

Blessing #16: Motherhood.

Having a mother and being a mother!

It's a blessing to still have my mom with me at 88. I'm so glad she doesn't act her age.

I'm soon to be an actual empty-nester. This post is about savoring these last weeks together.

If my older kids are thinking, "What am I? Chopped liver?".... No! Of course not! But think of all the family photos the youngest ones were not in before they were born. 😄

My Art #15: ...Not by me...

I surround myself with meaningful art. I consider it "my artwork" but not by me.

Most of it is original by people I know and love.

The sketches in the video were Christmas gifts to me and my husband when my oldest was a young teen.

She didn't draw much. In fact, these are the only detailed sketches she has ever done that I know of. It makes them all the more precious to me !

When I look at them, they still makes me feel so

known.
understood.
loved.

She has a way of helping people see their higher selves and helps them breathe easier. Quite literally.

I so, so love that she is mine!

Blessing #15: Weather. Without storms we would not have the magnificent green growth of Spring. Every season and its weather is a blessing.

My Art #14: I had an idea for a workshop. As I prepared for it I remembered a quote. Where can I find that quote??? 🤔

I drew it a few years ago so I could internalize it. I found my old sketchbook and found it! I took a photo and ran it through editing to share with workshop participants.

This process of drawing it, remembering it and sharing it increased my desire to act and be. I can bind Satan by being aware of my thoughts, actions and my nervous system.

Another way to say the same thing: I'm trying to be like Jesus.

The workshop was a couple of weeks ago, but my work is still in progress.

Thanks to those who attended. You inspire me!

Blessing #14: The One. This is a shout-out to all the "ones" that sacrifice time, talent, energy and resources to serve Jesus as full-time missionaries. There are some 84,000 currently making the world a better place as they accept calls to serve from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This "one" is special to our family. She is the 5th and last of her family generation to serve. Many will be blessed in Arizona by her decision. Many will miss her at home; none more than me, her proud mother.

My Art #13: "I am like a feather on the breath of God" - St. Hildegard Von Bingen

A poetic way of saying "I'll go where you want me to go, dear Lord".

Hildegard was a nun that was born in 1098. More than a thousand years later, her humble but tenaciously accomplished life still inspires.

Blessing #13: International Students. This video has a smattering of what I have on my camera roll of international friends from the last few years.

Our first short term student was back about 2002. Amar was from Syria. Then 2005 our dear Livia from Germany. Since 2012 with Marta from Spain we have hosted every year except during the pandemic. Our family has 23 bonus kids and counting!

Other countries include: France, England, Ecuador, China, Martinique, Mexico, Cuba and Italy.

If you are interested in hosting a short stay International Student this summer in Kansas City, Denver, Houston, Richmond, Chicago, Seattle areas, I can help!

....Especially in Kansas City, of course... ✈️

My art #12: Simple.

An early doodle based on a beloved, simple song.

Blessing #12: Nature. To me, immersing myself in nature is replenishing and sacred. You can't "plan" nature. You either happen to be at the right place at the right time paying attention, or not.

Today was one of those special times that showed up. A neighbor alerted us that she spotted trumpeter swans at the pond down the block.

I went to catch a glimpse with my daughter. Three of my neighbors arrived (with better cameras than my phone!) I caught one good shot when they swam close. The video was thanks to my neighbor Stacy!

That's only the second time in my long life that I have seen these majestic birds in nature. So worth the small effort!l. They made ME feel majestic! 👑 🎺🦢
