Artist spotlight - Caroline Lambard Caroline is exhibiting 'Athenaeum: Columns' @hyphastudios as part of @assembly_rss_exhibition in London. Caroline’s work looks at the experience of 3-dimensionality through installations, sculptures and drawings. In a world of increasingly virtual forms she re-focuses attention onto everyday encounters with materiality, movement and senses of presence. Her Columns installation uses a simple process to introduce form into space, exploring architecture and materiality. The light, ephemeral forms bring a sense of presence, holding the space with lines which travel from four high fixings through central planes then flow to the ground to pool and coil into islands. The open lines play with perceptions of three-dimensionality, highlighting in particular the everyday experience of motion parallax where forms such as groups of trees apparently shape-shift as you walk by, revealing the depth and position of each trunk, branch and leaf. The smaller works repurpose threads from earlier Columns installations, binding them into sculptures which have mass, in stark contrast to the spatial forms they came from. https://carolinelambard.com/ @caroline.lambard ‘Assembly’, is a contemporary art showcase from @royal_sculptors exhibiting @hyphastudios curated by @studioalexandracarr and @breeze1778 Assembly Hypha Gallery South Bank Gallery 3 42 Southwark Bridge Road London SE1 9EU Private View: 12th October 2026, 6-9pm Exhibition Dates: 8th October – 15th November 2026 Opening Hours: Thursday–Sunday, 12–6pm Admission: Free With thanks to @breezecreatives @hyperbolicorange and @artofwine.art Images 2 and 3 by @carlozambon. TOMORROW at 7pm!! I'll presenting a talk about my practice alongside photographer @gibsoncowan @tickbirdandrhino Hope you can join us Upstairs @The Devereux 20 Devereux Court London WC2R 3JJ Tickbird events are informal, fun evenings held in a central London pub. Tickets available via @tickbirdandrhino bio EVERYDAY SUBLIME First up we'll have Caroline Lambard, a sculptor who explores the experience of a three-dimensional world through installations, sculptures and drawings. In a time defined by increasingly virtual forms, Caroline's practice re-focuses our attention onto everyday encounters with material and movement, looking at those moments of transition and heightened awareness that we often miss when a form or event, once novel, becomes familiar. Following Caroline, the photographer Ben Gibson-Cowan will then talk with us about his life and work. Ben has spent nearly five decades behind the camera lens as both a photojournalist (working as Ben Gibson) and, more recently, a fine art photographer (as Ben Gibson-Cowan). Driven by a restlessness that took root long before he ever picked up a camera, his journey has taken him around the world. by @caroline.lambard

Yesterday’s talk with Ali Darke, Jane Hoodless, Caroline Lambard and Maureen Jordan @strange.parade was thought provoking and interesting - giving time for the artists to reflect on their work both individually and collectively in their exhibition ITERATE. With thanks for the generous and insightful questions and observations by Clare Burnett, who led the conversation. And, thank you to @strange.parade for hosting and of course to all the visitors. Today we're taking over the Royal Society of Sculptors' Instagram account to share the work in our exhibition ITERATE @iterate_exhibition at Strange Parade @strange.parade where four members of the society Ali Darke, Jane Hoodless, Maureen Jordan and Caroline Lambard are showing together. Each artist has looked at iterations in their artwork and practice. CAROLINE LAMBARD @caroline.lambard My iterations come about through repeated processes and forms, used to develop installations, sculptures and drawings. In the show I have a site specific Columns installation alongside three sculptures. The Columns installation series uses a simple iterative process to introduce form into a given space. The spaces can range from large halls to small boxes, and in each case I’m exploring architectures, adjusting forms and materials, and learning through the process. I’m interested in the ability of minimal forms to bring ephemeral yet powerful senses of presence to a space while playing with perceptions of three-dimensionalilty. The small sculptures come directly from the installations. The kingfisher-blue threads of Blue,Hero in image 2 were salvaged from a large 2014 Columns installation and kept in a box for a while before being cut into smaller lengths and bound together for easier storage. The bound threads were reminiscent of torque metal necklaces, and developed into a new iterative series of sculptures. These new works bring a transition in form with threads now creating mass - in stark contrast to the open-structured installations they came from. Both the installations and the sculptures are rooted in the concept of truth to materials.
