It was such an honor & joy to represent @theaileyschool at the Martha Hill Gala last night! The artistic excellence within the space was truly inspiring and it was so special to be a part of the celebration of such amazing artists, creators, and educators.

Congratulations to all of the recipients on their numerous achievements! Your creativity, passion, and dedication to your craft has forever shaped the dance world. I am so grateful to the @marthahilldancefund for welcoming students and emerging artists into these spaces of inspiration & education! by @carowdance

So much gratitude for a whimsical week @jacobspillow !

Thank you @maleek_washington for embodying humility, curiosity, and courage. To @tamishaguy for sharing your wealth of knowledge in dance, entrepreneurship, and artistic creation (also, 📸 credits for images 1 & 12). To @miketyus for reminding me to “hold everything with an open hand” & for always encouraging exploration. To @luca_francesco_renzi for sparking my interest in multimedia art & for continuing to make space for me to learn with you. To @renabutler for showing me the power of vulnerability and strength of authenticity. Yes, this is a third room! To @gcasel for sharing your kinesthetic practices & being a role model for inclusivity and cultural representation. To @janellemeriee for sharing your experiences & wisdom with me: “It’s good to give people a room but you also need to give them a couch and table for comfort.” I will work to support & build these spaces centered in love.

Whispers in the Wind: Documenting the Voices & Shared Experiences of Chinese’s Adoptees

Whispers in the Wind works to create a space that elevates the voices of Chinese adoptees, allowing our stories, struggles, fears, and journeys to be shared. This project focuses on central themes of self-identification, cultural belonging, and community. The film allows each participant to speak for themselves while highlighting shared experiences within the adoptee community.

I am so honored to have collaborated with @isabellakahn photography from her 32 Years Later portrait project. I am also so grateful for all the participants’ honesty, vulnerability, and kindness throughout this creation process.
