Before colours and fonts and layouts, every design project starts with a feeling we’re trying to capture.

This week we were working on the tour campaign for @johnmccuskermusic and @carriandavid ‘s upcoming German tour.

The challenge wasn’t designing a poster, it was capturing what happens when two friends with enormous affection for one another, who’ve spent decades immersed in folk music sit down and play together.

The music is warm and unforced so we tried to make the artwork feel the same way.

Plenty of space, nothing unnecessary, just two friends happy in each other’s company, and the story they’re inviting audiences into.

Good design isn’t about fluff and decoration, it’s about translation of a feeling and the job is to take that feeling and make it visible.

Creative Direction , Photography (with a little, ok a lot, of help from @sandybcamera) & Design by Everything & Nothing.
