1 in 8 women and 1 in 726 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. (United States) The best advice I can give to someone newly diagnosed is to find a local organization to connect with others. My own Stage III diagnosis in 2012 prompted me to want to take action to support others, including MEN. I have three brothers and a son and they were the first people I thought of after being diagnosed. Take less than 5 mins and watch this video to learn more about what @thecareprojectinc does and why. Please consider sharing as you never know who may need us OR want to support our mission. Grass roots nonprofits do invaluable work in communities. Support small business like my friend Antoinette’s @thedollhousewaxinglounge ♥️ Today, Antoinette was training some of her staff and I received a brow stain. Following the 80s thin brows plus chemo in 2012, my eyebrows are very sparse. Because of my extremely low vision, I really should not attempt to draw them on. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I wanted a very natural look and she delivered!! Support small business! She has two locations. (Fontana and Riverside) Waxing, brows, tanning and more. by @carrie__madrid

Stronger Together: Meet Teri Robinson!

Throughout her breast cancer journey, Teri Robinson found more than support through The CARE Project, Inc. She found compassion, encouragement, and a community that genuinely CARES.

Teri’s heartfelt words remind us why we do what we do. Sometimes, simply knowing someone is there for you can make all the difference during life’s most difficult moments.

October 7, we recognize International Male Breast Cancer Day.

For The CARE Project, this awareness is deeply personal. Through our nationwide Men 2 Program, we are committed to making sure men diagnosed with breast cancer are seen, heard, represented and supported.

Today we highlight Michael, Travis and Michael—three men whose stories remind us why representation matters. Their journeys may be different, but together they help send one powerful message: men facing breast cancer deserve a community that understands and CARES.

We will continue raising awareness, breaking the stigma and making space for the men whose voices belong in the breast cancer conversation.

SURVIVOR SPOTLIGHT: WAYNE SPARKS

A breast cancer diagnosis can bring fear, uncertainty, and so many unanswered questions. For Wayne Sparks, having someone there to help him navigate the unknown made a difference.

Wayne’s words are a powerful reminder of why The CARE Project, Inc. and our Men 2 Program exist—to make sure men facing breast cancer know they are seen, supported, and never alone.

We are honored to have been part of Wayne’s journey, not only as a breast cancer survivor, but also as a Marlyn Washburn Grant recipient. His story reminds us that sometimes CARE is simply being available, answering the questions, and helping someone feel a little less afraid.

Wayne, thank you for trusting TCP and for sharing your story so other men know support is here.

We are proud to spotlight Christina Villanueva — a two-time breast cancer survivor and dedicated volunteer with The CARE Project, Inc. as a mentor to newly diagnosed.

During her second battle with breast cancer, Christina faced the heartbreaking reality so many patients experience: being unable to work while trying to keep up with insurance, utilities, groceries, and the everyday needs of her children.

The CARE Project was able to step in with financial assistance when she needed it most. But our relationship with Christina didn’t end when treatment did. Today, she gives back by volunteering with TCP and helping us extend that same CARE to others walking through breast cancer.

Christina’s journey is a beautiful example of what community looks like: receiving support when you need it and, when you’re able, becoming part of that support for someone else.

We are grateful to have Christina as part of our CARE family.

Grateful for an exhausting weekend! Friday night pizza party for @thecareprojectinc following by 8am softball game for my grand daughters and up at 4am for the @believe_walk this morning. The girls learned what Abuela does with TCP and loved volunteering for the walk. They are ready to go again next year. They also experienced @carolynscaferedlands for the first time. Goodnight.
