Just like this golden & black beauty’s hooves pounding the earth, untamed power, raw rhythm. Painting for me is like my own beating heart. In my heart, in my mind, what i see and how i feelvmoves through the brush. Feel what you see and see what you feel.

🐎 There’s nothing like bearing witness to the power of these beings. Horses… untamed and elemental, as their hooves strike the raw earth. That rhythm, that pulse, is the drum that beats in me as I recreate their essence in the studio.
See them unleashed, on display now @thegalleryatjimmys. Xx

Some evenings stay with you long after the lights go down. Friday night The Gallery at Jimmy’s was one of those evenings.

I unveiled ‘Departure’, my newest body of work and what unfolded was more meaningful than I could have imagined.

Departure is about transformation. The identities we inherit, the versions of ourselves we leave behind, and the parts of us that remain, no matter how far we travel from who we once were.

To witness people connect with these paintings so deeply, to hear their stories, their interpretations, and the emotions the work brought to the surface, was extraordinary. We spoke about identity, memory, loss, freedom, and the courage it takes to become someone new.

These are the conversations that remind me why I paint.

It was also my most successful opening at Jimmy’s to date. Two works from the new series found their collectors, and every copy of my artist book sold out.

My art is deeply personal to me so it’s a gift when it becomes personal to someone else.

My heartfelt gratitude to everyone who shared this evening with me, to Mike Labrie and the wonderful team at Jimmy’s the artists and to the collectors who have welcomed these paintings into their lives.

An unforgettable night. And in so many ways, a new beginning.

Departure.
