I am a cancer survivor.

I received the unexpected and devastating diagnosis in my early twenties. Feeling both paralysed by the presence of my own mortality and motivated by my will to live, I embarked on a journey I did not ask for but was called forth to begin.

Throughout my cancer journey, I encountered moments of fear and uncertainty, but also moments of profound gratitude and love. During difficult times when I was lacking a north star, the plants reached out and invited me to reach back. They became a guiding light through the darkness, directing me into greater connection with myself, others and the living world around me.

I found solace among the trees, water, wind, hills and wildlife, and a sense of belonging emerged from their unwavering support and care.

I’ve come to understand that surviving cancer isn’t just about overcoming the disease but about the emotional healing, the connection and support of loved ones, both human and non-human alike, and the acceptance of both the scars and the strength that comes with this journey.

Surviving cancer has been more than just overcoming illness; it’s a journey of resilience, transformation, and deep self-discovery. For me, it has now become my journey to help others along the way, with nature as my guide and herbal medicine in hand.

The second photo in this post was taken shortly after multiple months of cancer treatments. It was taken by Kristin who was with me throughout. We attended a music festival outside of Montreal as a celebration. You can see that my hair is beginning to grow back. I don’t have any photos during the time I was going through treatment because my mom’s camera was stolen, which contained all those memories.

We are stepping into a new chapter, a refinement of the work we’ve been developing for over a decade.

Change is inevitable when you choose embodiment. It enhances awareness, ignites life force, and teaches us to follow something deeper and wiser than our conscious awareness.

We our evolution, our offerings are changing too.

The first to transform is The Plant Teachings Collective - a journey we began seven years ago. Patrick, who has been on this journey with us all these years, is stepping back. We will miss him, but we’re excited for what this program is becoming.

It will now be called Embodied Plant Teachings: it will invite you into your body and into relationship with the wild wisdom of plants.

The program will be taught through somatic frameworks, traditional herbal models, and embodiment practices to learn the physical, emotional spiritual teachings of plants, and how they can guide us through deep inner transformation.

The intention isn’t simply to know more about herbs; it’s to attune our nervous system to the pulse of life.
