We are stepping into a new chapter, a refinement of the work we’ve been developing for over a decade.

Change is inevitable when you choose embodiment. It enhances awareness, ignites life force, and teaches us to follow something deeper and wiser than our conscious awareness.

We our evolution, our offerings are changing too.

The first to transform is The Plant Teachings Collective - a journey we began seven years ago. Patrick, who has been on this journey with us all these years, is stepping back. We will miss him, but we’re excited for what this program is becoming.

It will now be called Embodied Plant Teachings: it will invite you into your body and into relationship with the wild wisdom of plants.

The program will be taught through somatic frameworks, traditional herbal models, and embodiment practices to learn the physical, emotional spiritual teachings of plants, and how they can guide us through deep inner transformation.

The intention isn’t simply to know more about herbs; it’s to attune our nervous system to the pulse of life.

❤️‍🔥If you feel called to step onto this transformative plant path, we invite you to join us.

❤️‍🔥 We are teaching a *free* herbal class on October 25 that will give you a taste of what Embodied Plant Teachings will offer.

❤️‍🔥 Comment “embodied” for details.

Zen Den at Electric Love festival. Back dropped by severe wildfire smoke, this year felt like a big win for us, but it came with a lot of work. Balancing sleep, health and wellbeing wasn’t an easy task, but I am grateful for the experience. Ionic Sound Systems is a vehicle for bringing together some of my favorite chosen family in this life time. We worked together to make sure our camp was dialed, food was shared and many laughs were had. There was coffee waiting for you in the morning, and warm tea late at night. Thanks to all of you for the friendship and so many great memories over the years. It’s been pretty much 20 years since I first invested in audio gear with the intention of providing great audio for my friends and community. In the beginning I had no idea what I was doing, but I always knew how I wanted my ideal system to sound like. It took a lot of f'n around and finding out over there years, mistakes, set backs, and endless research and learning. This weekend, it felt like the dream has been fully realized and cemented. We’re not trying to be the biggest, or the loudest, but the system does what it does in a way that I am absolutely so proud of. It handles any type of music well, from live bands to acoustic performances, vocals and speech. From heavy bass music to high bpm techno and trance, complex busy arrangements…. really anything you throw at it, it just does it in an effortless, clean, punchy and musically dynamic way. True full spectrum hifi sound for the dance floor, I couldn’t be happier. Thank you to everyone who notices what we do, the messages of gratitude and positive conversations keep us fueled towards ever improving what we do. Deep thanks to Pete for inviting us back to power the Zen Den. Thanks to everyone who came to check out my set, the many hoots and hollers make this old guy feel loved. Thanks to my crew who always show up and throw down for this dream, it means so much to me that we all share the same vision for what Ionic Sound Systems should be, I couldn’t do it without you. If you love what we do, poke your local promoters, we have a lot of passion for what we do, and are willing to travel to share them.

Hawthorn is one of our most beloved herbs, an essential heart medicine for any apothecary.

A few ways we work with this plant include:

♥️ Calming anxiety and stress felt in the heart

♥️ Helping to lower high blood pressure and improving cardio function

♥️ Protecting the cardiovascular system for those with heart related health risks

♥️ Supporting people to learn the difference between an open heart and a bleeding heart

Hawthorn is one of six herbs we will be teaching more deeply about in this year’s Plant Teachings Collective.

This is a seven month journey of embodied herbalism. Comment “herbalism” and we’ll send you more details!

Travis works in herbal cancer care and paramedicine. At age 23 he was diagnosed with cancer and faced his own mortality, now he helps other people in their most dire moments.

Supporting sick, injured, and dying people on a regular basis could harden a person - but I’ve seen the opposite in Travis. The deeper he’s leaned into the shadow aspects of life, the more compassionate, loving, caring, and fulfilled he’s become.

In the eight years I’ve been in partnership with Travis he’s taught me more about life, love, and humility than anyone else I know.

On this week’s episode of The Marie Embodied Podcast, I sat down to talk with Travis about how he’s able to navigate such dark, heavy, intense situations while still being connected to his heart.

His answer is rooted in his connection with the natural world.

In teenagehood Travis faced abuse and violence from the community around him; in that time he found solace in nature - since then nature has always been a guiding light even in his darkest times.

This episode weaves together how Travis has been able and willing to face the uncomfortable shadow aspects of life, and within himself, while finding meaning, purpose and belonging in the world.

I hope that his message will bring hope to those who are struggling with hopelessness and despair as the empire that we are all embedded in crumbles around us.

May Travis’s storytelling offer you a compass with which to orient yourself towards magic, love and environments where you can find joy.

✨ Comment “nature” and I’ll send you the episode.

Some favourites from my recent photoshoot with my dear friends Marie and Travis of @althaeaherbals.

I always cherish my time with these two and how effortlessly our creative vision comes together. The work they both do is deeply inspiring, and it’s an honour every time I’m asked to help capture the spirit of their offerings.

Marie and Travis have supported and uplifted my work for years, and I feel forever grateful for the faith and kindness they have shown me. 🕊️
