December Reading
Just realized how behind I was on these!
2 books in December, but they were both beasts!
1.Rhythm of War - 5 stars - Book 4 of The Stormlight Archive did not disappoint! This book both expanded the world of stormlight as well providing a tense narrative that made it hard to put down.
2. Wind and Truth - 5 stars - The final book in the first arc of The Stormlight Archive. Heartbreaking to think of how long it will take to finish this series. I am still pissed at whatever article I read that said you can read the cosmere in any order, as this book begins to connect in subtle ways to previous novels I find myself reserving mistborn and the others to read in 2025. This book has at the same time a slow pace through history, and a breakneck rush to the ‘big finish’. by @caryryan78

November Reading - 5 Books
1. Oathbringer - 5 stars - This series just keeps chugging along with awesomeness. There is so much going on, that even at 1200 pages a book, I don’t know how it ever ends, or that I want it to. Side characters did for me in this one. There are parts that I don’t love, but they are far outweighed by the depth and complexity of the story. Going to try to finish book 4 and 5 before the end of the year. Wish me luck!
2. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari - 4 stars - Recommended by Sister Mary Savasana herself @vinyasanista. Some of the dialogue in this book is a little cringey, but the message is awesome. I have even begun to incorporate a few of the techniques into my daily life.
3. The Last Ronin - 4.5 stars - Yes it’s a graphic novel. Yes it’s the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The original creators (who had a campy but edgy feel never replicated in shows or movies) returned to tell the last ninja turtle story. A fun ride to say the least.
4. Wool - 5 stars - A bit of a slow start, but an awesome post apocalyptic sci-fi mystery that I had a hard time putting down. Looking forward to checking out Silo, the Apple TV show based on the books, as well as continuing the series.
5. Dawnshard - 5 stars - Another stormlight novella. Not sure how I feel about the plot and the whole ‘Dawnshard’ itself. But Lopen. Lopen is my guy. First book of December will be book 4!

October Reqding - 3 Books
1. Black Sun - 4 stars - An intriguing first book of a fantasy series based on mesoamerican mythology. Interesting characters, races, and genders. The story was a little slow at times but built nicely. Second book already in the queue.
2. The Daughters War - 5 stars - I was upset when I heard that Christopher Buehlman was writing a prequel to The Blacktongue Theif instead of a sequel. But he killed it again. This book was amazing. Buehlman has a way of writing bleak, dark, hopeless fantasy that can also make you laugh out loud. Anxiously awaiting the next installment from this world.
3. Edgedancer - 5 stars - So it turns out that Brandon Sanderson doesn’t think it’s enough for us to read his 1200 page stormlight books, we need to read the novellas that fill the gaps between books. Gaps? 1200 pages a book and you got gaps? But then came Lift. Lift is awesome! Although I do have issues with her use of the word awesome. This was a fun story that really did expand this already huge universe. On to book 3!

September Reading - 3 Books
1. The Spear Cuts Through Water - 5 stars - Holy crap this was a good book. Another standalone fantasy recommended by booktok, and it did not disappoint. A beautiful, haunting tale of love and loss, of glory and sacrifice. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
2. Deep Sky - 4 stars - This one came recommended by Helen Montgomery, and she knows her stuff! A riveting murder mystery in the depths of space, with excellent character development and a story that jumps around in time without becoming confusing or repetitive.
3. Royal Assassin - 4.5 stars - The second book in the first elderling trilogy. A little formulaic at times, but beautifully written. These books have been hard to come by at my local library, so I am anxious for book 3 to be available so I can finish this story. A great sequel that is a fun and quick read. by @caryryan78
