Happy anniversary to my favorite (adult) human 🤎 the best teammate, travel partner, and baby daddy I could have ever asked for. My favorite person to stand in the pit with at blink shows, to scream sing with on long car rides, and to have dance parties with in the living room at night. So grateful for your sturdiness through life and for your ability to make me laugh—even through tears 🤪 I could go on forever, but I won’t! Love you endlessly 🫶🏼 taken in Brown Mountain Beach Resort by @casey.vantienen

TW: pregnancy loss 💔

It’s been a long time since I’ve shared from the heart on this app—partially because 2025 has chewed me up and spat me out, and partially because I’ve just stopped caring about instagram. But pouring my heart out here has always felt good to my soul, so maybe that’s what I need right now. And truthfully, I just don’t have the energy to keep sharing with each person I love individually anymore.

This year has brought me so much to be thankful for—I shifted careers, and despite everything, I’ve somehow continued to show up to teach classes, lead a yoga retreat, and take care of my own body. But this year has also been full of heaviness, grief, confusion, and pain. I lost my first pregnancy in January, and then another in May. I was crushed, but I was trusting. I had just started my new job, so I trusted the timing and knew it would happen when it was meant to.

When I got pregnant for the third time this year, I thought for sure I would be able to share some happily-ever-after, full-circle baby announcement. But instead, we had hours worth of ultrasounds and conversations with a genetic counselor, and were told one horrible thing after another about the health of our baby.

To lose three pregnancies—one at 17 weeks—is not how I thought this year would unfold. To sit in deep sadness and also go on like everything is fine. To share the joy of getting pregnant, to immediately having to backtrack, to eventually just keeping it all to ourselves. To be asked over and over again if we’re having more kids, wanting to burst into tears, grab these people by the shoulders and shout, “I’m trying!”—I’m really trying.

And also, to feel so much gratitude for what I do have. For Auggie and for Rob, who keeps me laughing through the tears. There are no words for that. No words for any of it really. To know that each of us has so much going on under the surface—so much real life happening. I’m learning I have very little time for the superficial.

I know I’ll eventually share more, but for now, this is where I am. Sad and grateful and trusting.

To every person who’s in a similar boat, just know that I love you. I see you. And I’m with you. 🫶🏼🕊️ by @casey.vantienen

Reminding myself every day of what it truly means to slow down.

Our souls crave presence and connection—the simplicity of sunshine, deep stillness, and being immersed in nature. The chaos and busyness of life can feel overwhelming, but when I remind myself to pause, take a deep breath, and allow myself to be present with each moment—I have more space to soften. To trust.

The first retreat I ever went on was exactly 4 years ago in the Bahamas, and it completely changed my life. Partly because it WAS life-changing (eternally grateful @leila.dylla), and partly because my soul just craved coming back to that place of simplicity. Waking with the sun and watching it rise over the ocean. Digging my bare feet into the earth. Daily meditation, yoga, and breathwork. Shifting the mundane into slow moments of ritual. Deep devotion, presence, and connection.

So, sweet friends, if your soul is craving it too, @ohyeahjess and I would love for you to join us this September 11-14 for Rest & Retreat in Oak Island, NC. We have just 3 beds left! Click the link in my bio or DM me to chat 🌿🦋 taken in Spanish Wells, Bahamas by @casey.vantienen

Since I’m slowly coming back to life on this app, I just wanted to say heyyy 🫶🏻

I’m Casey ~ I’m a yoga teacher (E-RYT500), teacher trainer, and retreat leader based in Wilmington, NC & I’ve been teaching now for over a decade! ❤️‍🔥 I started practicing yoga consistently in 2012 while I was living in Scotland. At the time, I felt so disconnected from myself, unclear of my purpose or who I really even was. Life was wiiild. Yoga became the catalyst that helped things start to shift, and it truly changed my life.

The physical practice of yoga, for me, is about peeling back the layers of gunk that have piled on over time, to connect back to the core of who I am. It’s so much more than the shapes we make on our mats—though y’all KNOW I love fun shapes. My hope is that in my classes, you have a soft and sacred place to land—space to come back to yourself with compassion and self trust. ✨

And while public classes and workshops can be so powerful, retreats bring an entirely different level of magic. They offer community, connection, and a safe space to share your heart. I’m so excited to be leading Rest & Retreat with my sweet soul sister @ohyeahjess in Oak Island this September 11th-14th. These immersive experiences can feel like such a sigh of relief, and our hope is that you return home feeling completely nourished and renewed on a soul-level 🕊️ Early bird pricing ends this Friday, 4/4! If you have questions, I’d love to chat!

Thanks for being on this journey with me, friends 🦋

Liiiiving for these quiet, sunny moments in the garden lately 🦋

The more intense this past winter became for me, the more I craved space—for stillness, to sit in sacred connection with myself. And the more I prioritized that space, the more it felt like coming back to life.

My own intuition and self trust are directly related to the relationship I have with myself and how connected I feel to who I am at my core. When Iife is really ~*lifing*~ and I get swept away in it, it’s easy to forget that that connection exists. To forget the true essence and magic of who I am ✨

So here’s a gentle reminder that the quieter we become—the more space we hold for ourselves—the easier it is to hear the sound of our own voice again.

If you’re craving that for yourself, leave a 🌱 below and I’ll send you a free guided meditation to help cultivate self love, self trust, and connection to your intuition. taken in Wilmington, North Carolina by @casey.vantienen

💭 IMAGINE THIS…
You wake up in a beautiful beachfront home to the sound of waves crashing outside and the smell of fresh coffee brewing downstairs. With a warm mug in your hands, you walk barefoot out onto the beach to watch the sunrise over the ocean. You stroll back up the path to the beach house for a morning yoga practice and journaling on the deck. Breakfast is the first of three meals prepared for you daily by our own private chef. After breakfast, you get settled in for an in-depth workshop led by Casey or Jess. Another holistic meal will be waiting for you for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon of spaciousness, relaxing on the beach or exploring the seaside town. We gather together again for a delicious and nourishing dinner spent connecting with your retreat sisters. As the sun sets, you sit in circle for a sacred cacao ceremony on the beach, followed by gentle yoga and reflective journaling to end your day.

🌿 If this sounds completely dreamy to you, we would love for you to join us for Rest & Retreat this September. Early bird pricing of $155 OFF the total price through 4/4! Click the link in our bios for all the details 🫶🏻 taken in Oak Island, North Carolina by @casey.vantienen
